Advancement in technology is rapidly changing the global economy and work place. The field of medical transcription has undergone tremendous progress because of constant advances in communication and Internet technology. Outsourcing medical transcription has proved to be an extremely popular and profitable option for the medical industry.
The concept and benefits of outsourcing medical transcription is well known to the medical industry. The direct and immediate advantage of outsourcing medical transcription is cost reduction, reliability in turnaround time and total security.
In the last few years India has shown amazing success in this field. The large pool of IT professionals, the internet revolution and the encouraging policy changes have catapulted India to a top position as a quality source of medical transcription services.
One industry that has been devastated by outsourcing is medical transcription. Medical transcription jobs have gone overseas, and I talk to people all the time that tell me about how their great work at home job has dried up.
Medical transcription in India is something quite controversial. Many people believe that medical professionals shouldn`t take business out of the country, but the fact remains that medical transcription in India is popular because it works.
Medical transcription technology has been fast evolving according to the needs of the times. The US healthcare system demands that all medical transactions be on record. Thus today we have medical transcription dictations that are even given over the telephone. To make the whole process easier physicians and doctors can now just dial in using a telephone and a PIN number anytime of the day or night and dictate for a transcript.
Most of the renowned transcription service providers usually have work units both domestically within the US and also in Asian locations like India or the Philippines. Thus they are able to be very flexible with regards to the turnaround time, pricing etc. Transcripts can be got even within a few hours if required. As all data sent over the Internet is always encrypted (using 256-bit encryption) there is total security and safety for all client files / information.
The data is received in the form of digital data files and voice data files and converted into text format in the process of transcription. There are certain prerequisites to convert those voice files into text documents which basically involve transcription and editing. To ensure maximum accuracy, the editing part of the transcribed files include quality checking, visual proofreading, spelling checks, grammatical corrections, rephrasing to streamline the context, and removal of inconsistencies and illogical content so that the desired accuracy of at least 98% is met before being uploaded back to the clients.
India provides an ideal locale for conducting medical transcription work with a large population of educated English speaking people, a large pool of IT professionals, the internet revolution, and the computer-savvy new generation aided by free market policy. Advancement in technology has tremendously metamorphosed the global economy and work place and the field of medical transcription has undergone tremendous progress because of constant advances in communication and Internet technology. Majority of the work is outsourced from US, but even British and Australian doctors are beginning to consider India as a possible source of getting this work done-quickly and efficiently.
Relief from Acid Reflux:
Millions of people get heartburn from time to time. But if you’re experiencing it on a regular basis, your body is trying to tell you something is wrong.
Persistent, frequent (2 or more days a week) heartburn, despite use of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and diet changes, could be acid reflux disease. Also referred to as GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), acid reflux disease can get progressively worse if left untreated.
There must be a dozen or so different prescription purple pills on the market that inhibit the proton pumps in the stomach from over producing stomach acid. They help the acid reflux condition to one degree or another, but to be specific, they do not fix the root cause of the proton pumps overproducing; they just inhibit them. They address the symptom, not the root cause. So the questions become: Why are the proton pumps in sufferer’s stomachs overproducing? And how can they naturally be allowed to produce at a normal rate?
I believe there are also people who would fit squarely into the second group described above, with a simple exception. That is that they have an additional or several other additional triggers for the onset or increase of acid reflux in their specific case; i.e. a certain food, drink, or tobacco. I will address in this program how people, who find themselves in this situation, can also realize the same relief from acid reflux suffering in their lives.
Proton pump inhibitors are highly effective treaments for heartburn due to acid reflux disease (also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD) Immediate-Release Proton Pump Inhibitor, providing rapid release of the active ingredients and continued acid control with once daily dosing.
Natural prevention and treatment can be very useful when it comes to acid reflux. I encourage you to give priority to the natural approach, using any medication or antacid as a temporary bridge, with the hope that you can wean yourself of those little purple pills in time. In my experience, use of antacids is not a long-term answer — whereas employing optimal nutrition, healthy digestive habits, good quality supplements, and emotional well-being provide long-term solutions. (Note that these measures can help soothe other digestive disorders as well, such as IBS, ulcers, and gastritis.)
How and when you eat matter! Shifting your meal pattern from three meals a day to five smaller meals puts less pressure on your digestive system. Try to eat your largest meal earlier in the day and have a light dinner. This will allow your system ample time to digest before you go to bed.
Chew your food thoroughly. Just like your mother said, digestion begins in your mouth! The digestive enzyme amylase targets starches in the mouth and gets the whole digestive cycle going, signaling production of gastric juices in the stomach, which then trigger production of pancreatic enzymes that go to work further down.
Try not to lie down within three hours of eating, when acid production is at its height. Gravity helps keep your stomach contents down where they belong.
Keep a food journal to record what you eat and when, as some foods may bother you only if you eat them at certain times, like close to bedtime. Some of the most common problem foods to avoid with acid reflux are stimulants such as chocolate, coffee and tea (even decaf), soda, alcohol, dairy and wheat.
There are a number of treatments for acid reflux / GERD that a physician may recommend. Initially, treatments usually include change in diet, antacids, and raising the head of the bed to elevate the torso and head 6-10 inches while lying down. Raising one's head with multiple pillows is not enough to prevent GERD attacks. Acid reflux / GERD often occurs while lying down since it is easy for the stomach contents to spill into (reflux) the esophagus when both are horizontal.
Unfortunately, there has not been an easy, simple technique for proper elevation until, non-medicinal, inflatable, acid reflux wedge bed elevator.
As little as ten minutes a day spent in quiet meditation can give you numerous physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Focus on deep breathing, which allows oxygen to reach the tissues and quiet the mind, allowing space for your inner voice to emerge and guide you in your life.

Insurance for Automobiles:
Automobile insurance is an often misunderstood insurance product. Since the Motor Vehicles Department (DMV) requires liability insurance in order to register and operate a vehicle, it is of great importance to purchase and to fully understand your automobile insurance policy.
Automobile insurance is simply a contract that helps pay for certain types of financial losses or obligations resulting from the use or ownership of an automobile. To obtain this contract (insurance policy), you pay a specified amount of money called a premium. In return for the premium paid, the insurance company agrees to pay certain expenses and legal liabilities depending on the terms of the insurance policy. Having the right insurance coverage may prevent you from suffering a large financial loss in the event of an automobile accident.
The most common way drivers choose to comply with the financial responsibility requirement is by purchasing an automobile liability insurance policy. If you have an accident not covered by insurance, then your license may be suspended. It is your responsibility to provide liability insurance for any vehicle you own regardless of who is operating the vehicle. It is illegal for those vehicles to be operated without meeting the requirements of this law.
Selecting an automotive insurance company can be an overwhelming task, with hundreds of companies competing for your business. Some companies can guide you through the process, helping you to select the coverage type needed for your vehicle and putting you in touch with car insurance companies that will give you the most competitive rates available. Whether you are looking to cover a car, truck, SUV, or business vehicle, whether you are insuring a teen or senior driver, and whether you have an excellent driving history and qualify for the lowest rates or poor driving record, we can save you money on your auto insurance with our online quoting services.
The responsibilities of owning and driving an automobile include following the financial responsibility laws under the VehicleCode. The most common way to satisfy the financial responsibility for operating an automobile in California is by purchasing automobile liability insurance. As a consumer it is important to familiarize yourself with automobile insurance terms, so you can understand what coverage the insurance company offers for your protection and what coverage best meets your needs and fulfills your requirements under the law.
A driver who is not acceptable to a standard lines insurance company due to a poor driving record and is assigned to an insurance company participating in the assigned risk pool. All insurance companies licensed to sell auto insurance in California agree to accept a share of high-risk drivers based on the percentage of auto policies they issue in the state.
The overwhelming majority of people will be involved in an automobile accident during their life. Here are a few tips to be prepared if this happens to you.
Insurance companies use several factors to determine your premiums, including your driving record, age, the type of car you drive, marital status, and your address. But increasingly, companies are using your credit history as an indicator of how likely you are to file a claim. InsWeb has a comprehensive breakdown of what insurance companies are looking for.
Called an insurance risk score, this controversial number is calculated using a special formula similar to a credit score but developed specifically for insurers. This formula is currently unavailable to consumers; however, many states are currently considering legislation to regulate the use of this score. In fact, Maryland and Washington have passed laws that restrict the use of credit information by insurance companies.
A few things have been made public about your insurance risk score recently. Five main financial factors are evaluated to calculate your insurance risk score:
1. Your payment history: Your record of paying credit bills in the past, number of adverse public records (i.e. bankruptcy, collections, liens), and the amount of delinquencies on your credit record account for about 35% of your insurance risk score. This is the largest factor in your insurance rating.
2. Amount of debt you owe: The number of accounts you have open, the types of accounts, and the amount you have charged all combine to count as 30% of your risk score.
3. Length of credit history: The amount of time that you've had credit and the specific length of time that you have had certain accounts make up 15% of your risk analysis.
4. New credit: 10% of your risk analysis is calculated based on your recent credit activity. Your number of new accounts, recent inquiries, and efforts to re-establish troubled credit are grouped into this category.
5. Types of credit in use: The number and activity of credit accounts including credit cards, retail store accounts, and mortgages count for another 10% of your risk evaluation.
Childhood Diseases:
One of the first things children are taught is how to share. Unfortunately, children often share more than toys and books with each other -- they also share diseases. Viruses, such as the chicken pox, are a part of growing up, but can still be scary for both the child and parent.
Some of the common childhood diseases are
Chicken Pox
Fifth Disease
Mumps
Measles (Rubella)
Roseola
Scarlet Fever
Chickenpox:
Chickenpox is a highly contagious acute viral infection seen mainly in winter and early spring. It is characterized by the appearance of a typical rash. The distinctive lesions or vesicles look like small “drops of water”. Later, a red swelling surrounds them. These lesions will crust over a period of 8–12 hours. Usually, chickenpox is accompanied by severe itching. They start usually on face, and scalp and then spread to chest, abdomen, back and extremities. It can be transmitted by direct contact with the infectious rash, by nasal secretions or by contaminated articles. The disease is infectious for about 24 hours before the appearance of the rash and remains so until all lesions are crusted (dried), usually 7 – 8 days.
However, communicability is still possible after 10 to 21 days after exposure. The usual incubation period is 14 –16 days. Chickenpox is accompanied by mild headache, fever, fatigue, flushed face and poor appetite. The best treatment is to reduce the itching by using a local cream or lotion (like Calamine), to change clothes and linen daily, to bathe frequently with soap and water, to give antipyretics and to use cold compressors to decrease the fever.
If a child is suspected to have chickenpox, he/she should remain at home until a doctor confirms it and until all vesicles are dried up and crusted.
'Fifth disease':
The child has red specks on the cheeks, nose, arms, thighs and buttocks. These are often blurred which makes it look like the child has been slapped. For this reason, fifth disease is often known as 'slapped cheek' syndrome. It can last up to 14 days and rarely causes a fever. It is mostly seen in children between the ages of 4 and 12. It cannot be treated, but disappears by itself. It is usually quite a mild illness.
Two weeks between being exposed to the infection and showing symptoms. Once the rash appears, the disease is no longer infectious.
Pregnant women should avoid being in contact with children with fifth disease as it may cause a miscarriage. Pregnant women with a child who contracts fifth disease should contact their doctor. The incubation period is a couple of weeks.
Mumps:
Mumps is a viral infection that affects one or both of the parotid glands situated just inside the angle of the jaw. Swelling of these glands is not usually the first symptom.
The child may feel unwell and have some discomfort at the glands site. This is usually accompanied by difficulty in chewing and swallowing, headache and fever.
The virus is spread by airborne droplets and an affected person is contagious for a week before and up to two weeks after the symptoms appear.
Although there is no specific treatment for mumps, bed rest, hydration, and analgesic drugs to ease the discomfort.
Measles (Rubella):
It is a contagious viral infection that is mostly seen in childhood. It is spread by airborne droplets and by close contact with the infected person. It can be transmitted from one week before onset of rash until one week after it fades. It is a mild infection in general, but it may result in abortion, stillbirth, or congenital defects in infants born to mothers who encountered the disease during the first trimester of pregnancy. Its incubation period lasts for 14-21 days.
There is a period of malaise, swollen painful lymph nodes and glands in the neck and face. The characteristic rash that starts on the face and neck quickly spreads to the trunk and extremities.
The face becomes flushed. There is no specific treatment for rubella except rest and isolating the person infected from pregnant and young children during the phase of the disease. All parents are urged to vaccinate their children with MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) vaccine or with the single dose of rubella vaccine.
Roseola:
Roseola (roseola infantum) is a mild viral illness affecting young children. The condition is characterized by a sudden high fever [103° F (39.4° C) to 105° F (40.6° C)] followed by a rosy-pink rash appearing mostly on the torso, neck, and arms.
Fever seizures may occur with the illness because of the rapid increase in a child''s temperature. The fever may last 2 to 3 days. As a child''s temperature gradually drops, the rash usually forms and lasts 1 to 2 days.
Roseola is most common in children 6 months to 2 years of age. It is rare after age 4.
Scarlet Fever:
Scarlet fever is a term used for strep throat with a rash. Strep throat is a throat infection caused by a type of streptococcal bacteria. The type of strep that infects the throat and causes scarlet fever is called group A beta-hemolytic streptococcus (GABS).
Symptoms that may occur before the rash include:
Fever of 101° F (38.33° C) or higher.
Sore throat and difficulty swallowing.
White or yellow spots or coating on the throat and tonsils.
Swollen lymph nodes in the neck.
Other symptoms, especially in children, may include general body aches, headache, stomachache, nausea, vomiting, or listlessness. Scarlet fever usually doesn''t occur with cold symptoms, such as sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, or cough.
Red spots begin to appear on the roof of the mouth (palate) about 2 to 3 days after symptoms first appear. Bright red spots may appear on the tongue, giving it an appearance called "strawberry tongue."
The most noticeable symptom of scarlet fever is a rough, red rash that feels like fine sandpaper. The rash begins on the chest and abdomen and then spreads over the rest of the body within 24 hours. The rash and redness are more apparent in skin folds, especially in the groin, armpits, and elbow creases. It usually fades in about a week, and at that time the skin may begin to peel.
Scarlet fever is most common in children ages 2 to 10, but it can affect people of any age.
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is launching an ambitious program to identify the genes responsible for common childhood diseases. Making use of advanced automated technology from the biotechnology company Illumina, Inc., the Hospital's new Center for Applied Genomics will house one of the world's largest programs for genotyping--the process of detecting gene variations, with the aim of linking them to particular illnesses.
The program will focus on some of the most prevalent diseases of childhood – asthma, obesity and diabetes, among others – as well as cancer, all of which are thought to involve the contributions of multiple, interacting genes. The Center's researchers will then work to translate the genetic knowledge into precisely targeted treatments for the diseases in question, customizing treatments to a child's genetic profile.
Drug Rehabilation Center:
Return to who you are, reclaim the life you lost, and overcome your Drug or Alcohol addiction. A 100% natural drug rehabilitation program is your best choice.
Our treatment is renowned internationally to give concrete and effective results. This 100% drug-free, all natural treatment is designed to overcome addictions for life, without using addictive substitutes or other hazardous drugs. Get rid of the cravings, the guilt and the depression associated with drugs, and put all the chances on your side by choosing a natural alternative.
The natural Narconon drug rehabilitation program offers an efficient, well-structured and organized program. Unlike other drug and alcohol treatments, our program deals with the true cause of addiction. Part of our natural biophysical approach is getting rid of accumulated toxic substances that cause cravings, a key element of our program. However, there is more to drug addiction than just the physical aspects and the cravings. The lifestyle linked with such addictions, the lying and the evident lack of motivation can't be ignored, and they have to be addressed. Essentially, our program has for goal to restore the initial quality of life of the individual.
The Drug and Alcohol Rehab Treatment Team deals not only with drug and alcohol abuse, but with the under-lying issues that are the contributing factors to this insidious disease, including dual diagnosis . The drug rehab is built upon the 12 step recovery program. We treat the individual as a whole; mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The drug rehab is tailored to meet the individual's specific needs by treating the person as well as their families. All this is accomplished in a loving and caring professional manner which we feel is the hallmark of quality treatment. Those who are addicted can and do recover. The counseling helps continue the process, offering a one year aftercare program that provides a support system, with a focus on a relapse prevention and problem solving. Making a difference is our priority and goal.
Different drug and alcohol rehab centers have different philosophies. This is an important factor that you need to consider when choosing treatment. It is the foundation of the drug treatment program. You need to know what their philosophy on addiction is & do they think it can be cured? What is the success rate of the drug rehab center? Where is the drug rehab located? These questions may not seem relevant but they are very important. If a drug and alcohol rehab center believes that addiction cannot actually be cured, only managed, it will affect the person’s chances for full rehabilitation.
If someone has a severe addiction to hard drugs such as a heroin addiction, crack cocaine addiction, cocaine addiction, methamphetamine addiction or alcohol addiction, it is advised to choose a rehab that is far away from the area a person is used to using drugs in. The further away the drug rehab, the better chance a person has to benefit from treatment. The environment itself can be a trigger that can cause a relapse. Most drug rehabs are not “lock down” facilities; therefore, if a person is in treatment close to home they get a craving or something upsets the treatment process, it will be much easier for him/her to leave the drug and alcohol rehab and find old connections to drugs. During the critical process of treatment while in a drug rehab program, being in a safe, positive environment far away from what the addict is used to is crucial to the recovery process.
Many drug rehab centers believe that punishing their clients will result in sobriety, so they make their clients perform menial chores and tasks during the treatment process. Passages does not agree with that philosophy; degrading activities will not cure someone of drug and alcohol dependency; it only further tarnishes an already damaged self-image. Instead, clients who come to Passages enjoy an environment of respect and unconditional support through continuous one-to-one therapy, helping clients toward a full, uncompromising addiction cure.
To assist in the healing and recovery process we refer the family and friends of those in crisis to a list of qualified interventionists. Confidential intervention services can be arranged nationally and internationally. If you or a loved one needs help, please call for a free consultation to the center and the compassionate intake counselors who will assess your needs and refer you appropriately to our list of qualified, responsible Intervention Specialists.
Environmental Pollution:
Environmental pollution is contamination of air, water and land from man-made waste. Pollution leads to depletion of the ozone layer, global warming and climate change. Air pollution is the release of chemicals and particles into the atmosphere. Water pollution includes surface runoff, leakage into groundwater, liquid spills, wastewater discharge and littering. If toxins are spilled on the ground or if an underground storage tank leaks, soil can become contaminated. Well known contaminants include herbicides and pesticides. Toxic waste is waste material, often in chemical form, which pollutes the natural environment and contaminates groundwater.
Global environmental regulations specific to the production and disposal of electronics present a host of information challenges to manufacturers, distributors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Regulations include directives from the European Union, Japan and other countries, such as:
* Restriction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS), which restricts use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic components
* Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), which deals with the recycling of electronic and electrical equipment
RoHS restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium VI, PBB and PBDE. Each and every component within a piece of electrical equipment must meet the standard, or the entire finished product fails. WEEE assigns electronics manufacturers the responsibility of collecting, recycling and recovering all types of electrical products, equipment and components.
The environmental problems in India are growing rapidly. The increasing economic development and a rapidly growing population that has taken the country from 300 million people in 1947 to over one billion people today is putting a strain on the environment, infrastructure, and the country’s natural resources. Industrial pollution, soil erosion, deforestation, rapid industrialization, urbanization, and land degradation are all worsening problems.
Over exploitation of the country's resources be it land or water and the industrialization process has resulted in considerable environmental degradation of resources.
The cost of environmental damage in India would shave 4 percent off of the country's gross domestic product. Lost productivity from death and disease due to environmental pollution are the primary culprits.
Air Pollution
There are four reasons of air pollution are - emissions from vehicles, thermal power plants, industries and refineries. The problem of indoor air pollution in rural areas and urban slums has assumed significant attention lately.
India’s environmental problems are exacerbated by its heavy reliance on coal for power generation. Coal supplies more than half of the country’s energy needs and is used for nearly three-quarters of electricity generation. While India is fortunate to have abundant reserves of coal to power economic development, the burning of this resource, especially given the high ash content of India’s coal, has come at a cost in terms of heightened public risk and environmental degradation. Reliance on coal as the major energy source has led to a nine-fold jump in carbon emissions over the past forty years. The government estimates the cost of environmental degradation has been running at 4.5% of GDP in recent years.
Vehicle emissions are responsible for 70% of the country’s air pollution. The major problem with government efforts to safeguard the environment has been enforcement at the local level, not with a lack of laws. Air pollution from vehicle exhaust and industry is a worsening problem for India. Exhaust from vehicles has increased eight-fold over levels of twenty years ago; industrial pollution has risen four times over the same period. The economy has grown two and a half times over the past two decades but pollution control and civil services have not kept pace. Air quality is worst in the big cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, etc.
River water Pollution
Fully 80 percent of urban waste in India ends up in the country's rivers, and unchecked urban growth across the country combined with poor government oversight means the problem is only getting worse. A growing number of bodies of water in India are unfit for human use, and in the River Ganga, holy to the country's 82 percent Hindu majority, is dying slowly due to unchecked pollution.
Groundwater exploitation
Groundwater exploitation is a serious matter of concern today and legislations and policy measures taken till date, by the state governments (water is a state subject) have not had the desired effect on the situation.
Plastic Pollution
Plastic bags, plastic thin sheets and plastic waste is also a major source of pollution.
NASA research findings
Latest research findings by NASA and Stanford University indicate that aerosol pollution will slow down winds, impacting normal rainfall pattern in tropical countries. The unique combination of meteorology, landscape (relatively flat plains framed by the Himalayas to the north and open ocean to the south), and the large population maximize the effects of aerosol pollution in India. The skies over North India are seasonally filled with a thick soup of aerosol particles all along the southern edge of the Himalayas, streaming southward over Bangladesh and the Bay of Bengal. Most of this air pollution comes from human activities.
Accumulation of aerosol particles in the atmosphere also makes clouds last longer without releasing rain. This is because atmospheric water forms deposits on naturally occurring particles, like dust, to form clouds. But if there is pollution in the atmosphere, the water has to deposit on more particles. Thus it causes lesser rain.
Environmental pollution causes death by cancer of 1,250 Israelis every year, according to the draft of a Health Ministry Report released Sunday.
The report is based on epidemiological estimates from the West, especially from the United States. These figures suggest that between 3 percent and 8 percent of all cancers are caused by environmental pollutants. The main culprits are vehicle and industrial pollution, but water and soil contamination are also implicated.
Be health with simple exercises
You hear a lot about living a healthy lifestyle, but what does that mean? In general, a healthy person doesn't smoke, is at a healthy weight, eats healthy and exercises. Sounds simple, doesn't it?
The trick to healthy living is making small changes...taking more steps, adding fruit to your cereal, having an extra glass of water...these are just a few ways you can start living healthy without drastic changes.
Do you ever get bored with your cardio workouts? I do, so I'm always looking for ways to shake things up. One of the simplest ways to burn calories and boost endurance is with high intensity exercise. That's great, but who wants to go out and kill themselves for 20 minutes? Not me! Interval training is a great option if you want a quick, calorie-burning workout. Here's one of my favorite interval workouts (I usually do it outside) that involves a variety of moves--all simple but challenging.
How do you feel to be healthy? Nice! Must be wondering if there is that magic wand, I can become slim, fit and healthy. Nice to think but how to make this a reality? Takes time. Can't happen overnight.
You can follow certain simple and easy technics which will help you be fit and healthy. Have you decided to go for it! then read on.
- Do not make a future plan for your exercise, if you have to do it, just do it now.
- Wake up a bit early, pull your pants up and start walking out. If not like an exercise, just walk out. Go where you like, spend sometime out in the morning. You can opt to buy milk, vegetables, newspaper or whatever... just go out. Slowly increase the speed of your walk.
At its most basic, exercise is any type of physical exertion we perform in an effort to improve our health, shape our bodies and boost performance. Obviously that covers a broad range of activities and, luckily, there are plenty to go around whether you want to lose weight, get healthy or train for a sport.
Strengthening the heart and other muscles isn't the only important goal of exercise. Exercise also helps the body stay flexible, meaning that your muscles and joints stretch and bend easily. People who are flexible can worry less about strained muscles and sprains.
Being flexible may also help improve a person's sports performance. Some activities, like dance or martial arts, obviously require great flexibility, but increased flexibility can also help people perform better at other sports, such as soccer or lacrosse.
Sports and activities that encourage flexibility are easy to find. Many high schools have gymnastics programs. Martial arts like karate also help a person stay flexible. Ballet, pilates, and yoga are other good choices. Warming up for a workout and doing simple stretching exercises before and after your workout also help you develop flexibility.
As with all good things, it's possible to overdo exercise. Although exercising is a great way to maintain a healthy weight, exercising too much to lose weight isn't healthy. The body needs enough calories to function properly. This is especially true for teens, who are still growing.
Exercising too much in an effort to burn calories and lose weight (also called compulsive exercise) can be a sign of an eating disorder. If you ever get the feeling that your exercise is in charge of you rather than the other way around, talk with your doctor, a parent, or another adult you trust.

Flowers are, without doubt, a classic, and yet exquisite gift. Unique and living, they are different from all other gifts, and manage to convey emotions at the same time as they are serving a role as a present. Thus, to optimize and reach this potential of emotion that flowers can induce, it is important that you buy your flowers from a flower shop that is professional and serious, with a staff of florists who love their work and consider their flowers as alive as we are, and lastly, with flowers that are as fresh and expressive as you are, to share exactly your thoughts through their understated and clear beauty.
A whiff of a fragrance of any flower arrangement can immediately uplift our senses the way no other object can. However, it is perhaps the dazzling array of colors, hues, shades in a flower arrangement that holds the emotional appeal of flowers for every one of us, regardless of age or gender. Psychologists have attested to the power of color in our lives, and there's no more beautiful image of a gathering of colors than the image of an excellent flower arrangement. It seems as if the colors of flowers appeal to the vast arsenal of emotions to help us choose which flower arrangement can best express our feelings. Indeed, just the mere presence of flowers can heighten feelings of happiness and ultimately affect behavior.

Homeowner Insurance companies:
Homeowners insurance protects you from financial losses caused by storms, fire, theft, and other events outlined in your policy. It is important to know what’s in your policy. Make sure you read your policy carefully and understand your specific coverages.
It’s also important to know your rights. Texas has a Consumer Bill of Rights for homeowners and renters insurance. Your company must send the Bill of Rights with your policy or renewal. Don’t wait until you have a claim to review your policy and to know your rights.
Buy enough coverage to avoid a major financial loss if your home is severely damaged or destroyed. This means keeping a realistic dollar amount of coverage on your house.
Knowing your rights can help if you are rejected for homeowners insurance or lose your coverage. If you request it, a company must explain in writing its reason for declining, canceling, or not renewing your policy. Texas law prohibits companies from denying, canceling, or refusing to renew a policy solely on the basis of your credit. You may file a complaint with TDI if you believe a company improperly denied you insurance.
Insurance companies are allowed to sell many different homeowners insurance policies in Texas. Because choosing which coverage is right for you can be difficult and confusing, the Office of Public Insurance Counsel (OPIC) has devised the following interactive comparison chart.
The information provided by this chart is based on the most recent information provided to the OPIC by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). Every effort has been made to keep the information accurate and up to date. However you should always check with your agent or company prior to purchasing a policy to ensure the information provided below is consistent with what that company is currently offering.
To successfully underwrite homeowners’ insurance in Florida, a company must be financially sound and properly reinsured to protect homeowners from multiple catastrophes in one year.
The hurricane activity of the last several years has created many challenges for property owners and insurers in the state. Homeowner Insurance was founded to meet the needs of property owners as insurance carriers reduce the amount of property business they write in Florida.
Typically, standard policies don't cover earthquakes (or even earth movement), flooding (if you're in areas prone to flooding), damage to landscaping from wind and hail, and termites, as well as wear and tear from normal use. There may be other exclusions as well. Even if you don't read the entire policy, it's a good idea at least to read the exclusion section. It's extremely important to know what situations are excluded from coverage, because you may want to consider a supplemental policy for a particular liability, such as an earthquake, hurricane, or flood.
As home values rise, you may find that your dwelling replacement coverage is wholly inadequate for the home you have. Over time, you may also buy personal property of high value that may not have adequate insurance protection. Be sure to reassess your coverage annually and increase your coverage if you need to. It's also wise to inventory valuables in your house ahead of time; otherwise you may not be able to prove their loss and receive coverage. Take photos of your valuables and keep them in a handy and safe place.
Insurers may offer premium discounts if you take steps to reduce the chances of a loss. Discounts will vary from company to company. Some of the more common discounts are based on having:
• Impact-resistant roof
• Noncombustible roof
• Personal property marked with an identifying number (inspection required)
• Age of house (companies set own standards)
• Premises in good condition (companies set own standards)
• Good claims experience for three consecutive years
• Other policies with same company or group
• The house insured to full replacement cost
• A senior citizens discount
• Burglar, fire, and smoke alarm systems
• Automatic sprinkler systems
• Fire extinguishers
• Home security devices
Jewellery Business:
The sparkle has gone out of Gujarat's gold jewellery business, with an estimated fall of more than 50 percent in ornament sales across the state due to skyrocketing prices of the yellow metal.
Snatbhai Zaveri, a leading jeweller of Bhavnagar city, said: 'There is a major fall in the sales of ready ornaments due to higher prices of gold. One cannot afford to buy gold at the prevailing price for savings purposes. Only those who are compelled to buy gold to meet social obligations are buying it now.'
According to trade sources, the gold jewellery business in the state is worth about 160 tonnes a year or 13,000 kg a month. Currently, the sales are hovering around 6,500 kg a month.
A large number of artisans in Gujarat make a living from gold and silver jewellery making.
Soni added: 'There is a great fall in footfalls in jewellery showrooms. Those from the middle class and upper middle class who are compelled to buy gold jewellery for marriage purpose prefer to buy light weight ornaments.'
The all-India consumption of gold as jewellery is over 800 tonnes annually.
Probably one question concerning starting a jewelry business that I most often see on the forum concerns how to become a legal business. I wish this was a simple question to answer, and I could just say do "a," then "b," and then "c." But, of course, you know it can't be that easy, right? However, it's not such a monumental task that it should deter you from starting your own jewelry business or force you to consider operating a business illegally, and if you do not get the proper paper work taken care of, that is what you will be doing.
As I said, there's not simple answer, and mainly this is due to the fact that not all cities, counties, states, or countries have the same rules when it comes to operating a small business. Therefore, this will require some homework on your part.
Years ago when I first started selling my jewelry, I started out just selling to people I knew, friends, family, and co-workers. Eventually, I realized I needed more customers and started to sell at arts and crafts shows in my local area. I continued to sell at shows like these for about eight years, and while I no longer have the time now, I feel like these early years on the art show circuit were really a worthwhile experience. It is a lot of hard work, but if you are considering trying to sell your jewelry at shows or have been doing it already, here are some tips that may make it a little easier on you.
• No matter what happens, try to keep a positive attitude. It will make the experience much more pleasant for you as well as your customers.
• On that same note, think of your purpose as more than just a dollars and cents venture. When you are at a show, it is like having a little shop for a day or two, and you can gather a lot of wonderful information from people who wander into your tent.
• Be as prepared for a long day and try to make it as comfortable for yourself as possible.
• If at all possible, do not do a show alone. If you don't have an understanding husband or other relative, consider at least asking a friend to stop by for a few hours to help at the end of the show so you can have some help after your long day.
• Don't spend too much time setting up because the longer it takes you set up the longer it will take you to break down your displays. Try to find ways to have jewelry on displays already so you can set them up quickly.
• Experiment with different booth and tent set ups to find what works best for you and your customers. The only way to really know for sure what works for you is to try a few different set ups.
• Do not let negative comments get to you. Some people just like to be snarky for no reason.
Lapidary shows are a wonderful place to stock up on all you need to make jewelry. These shows can be wholesale or retail and sell ready to wear jewelry as well as jewelry components such as beads, cut stones, and findings. They can also be a good resource for equipment and tools.
There is always a huge selection of beads made of glass, semi-precious and precious stones, crystal, and metals. Since I’m a rock enthusiast, I normally gravitate to the stone beads. At one show, I saw a variety which included unique stones such as iolite and smoky quartz. These are available in a lot of different cuts and sizes, like 10mm faceted.
Viewing the creative pieces by other jewelry makers is also a great feature of these shows. There is normally an assortment of silver jewelry and Native American work.
When it comes to unique hand-crafted jewelry, your customers want to know about the artist because you and your craftsmanship is what sets your jewelry apart from mass produced or imported goods. Just because you have “hand-crafted” mentioned here and there, that’s not enough. When you sell your jewelry, you are literally selling a little piece of yourself.
The Small Business Administration has offices throughout the United States, and its purpose is to help people like you. Locate your closest SBA office through its web site.
The legal side of selling jewelry is not nearly as enjoyable as making the jewelry, but it's a necessary part of doing business. Do your homework as early on in the process as you can, so you can leave more time to do what you love: making and selling your jewelry art.
Litigation:
The action of issuing cash advances to lawyers and plaintiffs in exchange for a portion of the financial recovery. A contingent transaction whereby funds are advanced based on the merits of a pending lawsuit and repaid upon successful settlement, verdict or otherwise. Funding obtained to assist in the litigation process to be used for purposes directly or indirectly related to the case.
Litigation funding provides funding to plaintiffs so litigation can run its course. Balance the inequities between plaintiffs and the insurance company.
If you are involved in a lawsuit or legal claim, it may take months or even years to receive the highest possible settlement. When your ability to work is affected, the longer your case lasts, the more difficult it becomes to pay everyday bills.
Legal funding can help you avoid a financial disaster such as foreclosure, eviction, bankruptcy and ruined credit. Don't settle for less just because you are in desperate need of money.
Many members of the litigation funding industry will provide capital to Plaintiffs regardless of the merits of their cases. Ultimately, the Plaintiffs pay for the funding company’s risky approach through the return charged to them by the funding company.
Litigation Funding takes a different approach to how its services are provided.
First of all, it only underwrite fundamentally strong cases which means do not have to charge higher fees in order to cover loses on cases that do not have strong merits and are not likely to provide a recovery for the Plaintiff. In short, Litigation funding don't charge the clients a higher return in order to offset our loses on other cases.
Secondly, in order to provide more competitive pricing, our operation is streamlined and our overhead is kept to a minimum; advantages that equal a cost savings on the services.
Thirdly, the rates are easy to understand so that there are not hidden charges or sliding scales of interest and the Plaintiff understands up front what the payback obligation will be.
3,500 people apply for litigation funding each day in the United States. Almost 60% of applicants are approved for funding. The majority of all litigation funding is for medical expenses of those that do not have health insurance and the remainder is for immediate and necessary living expenses. Those who have been severely injured in accidents caused by the negligent acts of another can be financially devastated during the process. Many will be put out of work for weeks or months and will not have income during their recovery period. Litigation Funding is sometimes the only access to funding as many of these victims do not have good credit and/or income to qualify them for a traditional loan.
The cost of legal services in Australia is at an all-time high. Few people can afford to fund their own litigation and gain access to justice.
Even a litigant with a 99% chance of success will think twice about launching litigation proceedings due to the high cost of preparing and running a case.
Litigation funding is now recognised by the Australian Judiciary as a necessary and essential component in the system of justice that is delivered every day in courts.
Those that criticize litigation funding cry of high fees charged to consumers that are in a desperate situation. It is argued that this type of funding actually takes money from the consumers pocket and the fees charged outweigh the benefits. Consumers should investigate each funding company by asking questions and determining their fees and conditions. Make sure the company you choose is a member of the American Litigation Finance Association also known as ALFA. This association has rules and best practices that members must follow when conducting business with consumers.
Bankruptcy in Maryland:
Maryland bankruptcy law is aimed at giving persons burdened by debt the chance to get a fresh start. The reasons for filing are many--and not necessarily anyone's fault--including job loss, unexpected illness, death of a spouse or breadwinner, debts created by a co-debtor, or excessive credit card charges built up from years of earning less than that person's living expenses.
There is no magic formula for deciding when bankruptcy is the right choice. It is an option you might consider if you:
• Are paying only minimum amounts on your bills
• Can't budget yourself out of debt within five years
• Are getting notices that your mortgage or loans are being foreclosed
• Have had a severe financial setback, such as losing your job or a major client, a divorce or a costly illness
Types of bankruptcy in Maryland:
Individuals have two choices under the bankruptcy in Maryland laws. Under Chapter 7, a liquidation bankruptcy in Maryland, the debtor is excused from most debts in return for giving up his or her property to creditors. However, since the law also allows the debtors to keep necessary property, such as a car or basic personal property (if not too expensive), most debtors, if they have proper planning, will keep most, if not all, they already own. For debtors with significant property, Chapter 13, a debt readjustment, is an option. Under Chapter 13, the debtor proposes a plan of affordable monthly payments for three to five years paying back some or all of the debt, depending. This choice is useful for persons who are behind in payments but have property they would like to keep and otherwise would lose in Chapter 7.
Chapter 7 Bankruptcy:
Chapter 7, otherwise known as "liquidation," is generally the simplest and quickest form of bankruptcy and is available to individuals, married couples, corporations and partnerships. A trustee (appointed by the court) gathers and sells your non-exempt property and uses the proceeds from the sale to pay your creditors.
Most chapter 7 cases are "no-asset' case, which simply means that you do not have any non-exempt property for the trustee to sell.
Usually between 20 and 40 days after you file your petition, the trustee will hold the "first meeting of creditors" (also called a "341" meeting ).You must be present for that meeting. The trustee can ask you questions under oath about your property and debts. Creditors can also question you on those subjects, but seldom do.
Generally, the only responsibilities you have with respect to the bankruptcy after the 341 meeting is to cooperate with the trustee in providing any requested information.
Creditors have 60 days after the 341 meeting to convince the bankruptcy court you shouldn't be allowed to jettison your debts.
If your situation has come to the point that you need a lawyer, do not hesitate to get one. In a Chapter 13 filing, most lawyers will receive their fee directly from the money you pay the trustee under the repayment plan. In a Chapter 7 filing, many lawyers require an initial smaller retainer fee and allow you to pay the balance after your debt has been discharged and you can better afford to pay them. If you still cannot afford a lawyer find a non-profit organization such as Consumer Credit Counseling Service in your yellow pages. Beware of individuals or for profit agencies offering credit counseling services for a fee. While some are legitimate with noble intent, others may not possess the knowledge and skill necessary to handle your financial situation in a manner most beneficial for you. Many for profit credit agencies may just take your money and refer you to a lawyer with whom they have a fee arrangement. In many states, unless the referring credit agency is a state licensed referral service. This type of fee splitting or "bird-dogging" is illegal.
As discussed later, many debtors ignore their problem far too long and cause themselves even greater harm! If your situation is out of control, get some help from either a credit agency or a lawyer as soon as possible. Otherwise your situation will only get worse! Remember to ask the right questions needed to determine what the best solution is for you! Don't let anyone talk you into a solution just because "it's what they do".
Care for New Born Baby:
Babies simply love to be touched. In fact, they thrive on it — it's a critical part of growth and development. All that skin-to-skin contact not only helps you and your baby bond, it can comfort your baby when he's upset and ease colicky behavior.
Find a warm, flat surface to lay your baby on — a blanket on a carpeted floor is fine. Pour a little baby oil or pure vegetable oil in your palms and rub your hands together to warm them and the oil. Try to look into your baby's eyes, and sing or talk to him as you do the massage. And pay attention to your baby's response: If he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself, try a lighter touch, or simply stop.
You've probably heard that "tummy time" is important so that babies can learn to push up and eventually crawl — but if your little one fusses and cries when you put him on his belly, what can you do?
If your baby's used to sleeping on his back, that's wonderful — sleeping on his back reduces your child's risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). But during waking hours, tummy time is essential from day one. Experts find that babies who don't spend time face-down often have some delays in their development of motor skills.
One mom-tested strategy is to distract your baby from the unfamiliar feeling of being face-down until he gets used to it. The best thing you can do, says Glassy, is join your baby on the floor. Encourage him, talk with him, shake his rattle, make funny faces, play peekaboo. He might even enjoy watching you do your leg lifts or crunches (he's working hard after all). Another option is to lay your baby tummy-down on your tummy, either on the floor, in a recliner, or even in the bath.
Once your baby has sufficient head control — around age 4 months — you can play airplane: Lie on the floor and bend your legs. Put your baby's tummy against your legs, his head at your knees. Then bend your legs while holding on to him firmly. He'll probably love the new view. You might also put him on the bed, near the edge, and sit on the floor with your face next to his. He might appreciate the softer surface, and you can easily interact with him in this position.
Prop a board book open in front of your baby, or place a favorite toy within reach. Invest in a tummy-time toy or gym, designed especially for babies to play with while on their belly. Some have lights, mirrors, moving pictures, music and/or squeaky toys attached. Or place him on a colorful quilt or an activity mat designed just for babies. Some mats have prop-up toys or mirrors, and others are filled with water, for added fun. Take your baby's socks off so he can get good traction on the mat.
The best way to remove the scales is to rub mild vegetable or olive oil into your baby's scalp a couple of times a week, let it sit for about 15 minutes, then gently comb out the flakes. Then wash your child's hair with a gentle baby shampoo.
Some doctors recommend leaving baby shampoo on your child's head for about 20 minutes (or as long as your baby can stand it) and then massaging the scalp with a soft toothbrush. Cradle cap will eventually go away on its own, but consult a pediatrician if the condition persists, gets worse, or spreads. She may prescribe a medicated shampoo or cortisone cream.
Your baby's nails may be softer and more pliable than yours, but make no mistake, they're sharp — and a newborn, who has little control over his flailing limbs, can easily end up scratching his own face (or yours) as he reaches out to explore. A newborn's fingernails grow so fast you may have to cut them as often as a few times a week; toenails require less frequent trimming.
The easiest way to trim a baby's fingernails may be to just peel (or bite) the ends off with your fingers. Your baby's nails are so soft that they will easily rip right along the tops of his fingers.
And don't worry — you won't rip the whole nail off this way. You can also file them down with an emery board, if you have the patience.
Otherwise, you'll need to invest in a pair of baby scissors or clippers, and grab a partner. One of you can hold the baby and keep him from wiggling too much while the other does the job. (You may want to try it while he's feeding or sleeping so that he'll be calmer.) Press the finger pad away from the nail to avoid nicking the skin, and keep a firm hold on your child's hand as you clip.
The only thing a newborn should receive for at least the first six months is breastmilk. When your child is old enough for solids, small sips of water are okay. As a newborn, however, water should never be offered because many times it would take the place of a feeding. Also, too much water can prove toxifying. Wait until your baby has solids, and even then don't offer too much until at least 8 to 10 months.
A newborn can have as many as eight to ten bowel movements a day, but as long as she is having at least one, she's probably all right. One day without a bowel movement is usually no cause for concern. As long as your baby is feeding well and wetting her diaper five or six times a day, then she's most likely getting enough to eat. If she starts to become uncomfortable or has a persistently swollen abdomen, then she may need some help with pooping, and you should speak to your pediatrician about how to facilitate this.
In the early days, a newborn's bowel movements are thick and dark green in color. This is due to a substance called meconium that has been building up in her intestines during pregnancy. As the baby starts to feed and have bowel movements, she will finish expelling the meconium and her stools will start to turn yellowish. It is not uncommon for an infant's bowel movements to vary in color from day to day. The color of the stools can depend on a variety of things, including what a breastfeeding mom is eating, how hydrated the baby is, and the type and frequency of formula the infant is being fed, if applicable.
Obesity-Obesity problems:
Obesity was a rare occurrence, a few years back. It is no more so. At one time people identified obesity as the cause for some underlying physical disorder or mental disability, so they sought to control excess weigh. But later obesity by and large came to be viewed and specified as being the symbol of good health or good personality. Remarks like "how healthy he looks!" "What a personality he has!" are not uncommon. Even in families where no one is obese, we find children who are either obese from childhood or become obese a few years later.
Some still equate obesity with perfect health. If one losses a few pounds of excess weight people lament often about how good his health was some days ago and how weak he looked after losing weight. Nevertheless today many people are well informed through various health column, articles and news items published in periodicals & papers about why obesity is not desirable and why one should control excess weight. People now realise that obesity causes a variety of disorders, some of which could prove life threatening.
Some mentally handicapped children are found obese. Though these children have normal weight older. There are two reasons for this, wrong eating habits & lack of exercise. Obese persons are referred to as "flesh mountains: or "road rollers". They are often ridiculed and even scorned at. Those who knew that obese people lack good health would, however, pity such persons. It is a common sight to see a stout person boarding in overcrowded bus puffing & panting, making his way through the crowd causing untold discomfort to the other passengers.
The definition of obesity varies depending on what one reads, but in general, it is a chronic condition defined by an excess amount body fat. A certain amount of body fat is necessary for storing energy, heat insulation, shock absorption, and other functions. The normal amount of body fat (expressed as percentage of body fat) is between 25-30% in women and 18-23% in men. Women with over 30% body fat and men with over 25% body fat are considered obese.
Obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. One in three Americans is obese.
Obesity is also increasing rapidly throughout the world, and the incidence of obesity has nearly doubled form 1991 to 1998.
The balance between calorie intake and energy expenditure determines a person's weight. If a person eats more calories than he or she burns, the person gains weight (the body will store the excess energy as fat). If a person eats fewer calories than he or she burns, he or she will lose weight. Therefore the most common causes of obesity are overeating and physical inactivity. At present, we know that there are many factors that contribute to obesity, some of which have a genetic component:
1. Genetics 2. Overeating 3. A diet high in simple carbohydrates 4. Frequency of eating 5. Slow metabolism 6. Physical inactivity 7. Medications 8. Psychological factors 9. Diseases
Health clubs and weight loss centers often use the skin caliper or bioelectric impedance analysis method, however, they can yield inaccurate results if an inexperienced person performs them or they are used on someone with significant obesity.
Body fat that accumulates in the stomach area (described as "abdominal obesity") is more of a health risk than body fat that builds up in the buttocks and thigh areas. For this reason, your waistline provides valuable information about your risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. Doctors consider a waist circumference too high if it is 40 inches or more in men, or 35 inches or more in women.
Talk to your doctor about healthy eating and physical activities that can help you lose weight, improve your fitness and decrease the chances of developing heart disease, high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes. Be sure to set realistic goals. Small changes can make a surprising difference in your health. Your doctor can offer practical suggestions that do not require a complete overhaul of your current way of life. In some cases, your physician may refer you to a nutrition specialist, such as a registered dietitian, for in-depth counseling about food choices. You may want to start the conversation by asking a few questions of your own. For example:
• Ask your doctor for any educational brochures on topics such as eating habits, counting calories or physical activity
• Request to have your BMI measured and ask your doctor what it means with regard to your health status
• Have your waist circumference measured and discuss the significance of the measurement with your doctor
• Be prepared to describe your current diet and activity level and what changes might promote better health
• Think about how much change you're willing to make before you visit your doctor
• Ask if specialists are available on your health plan and in your area, such as dietitians or physical trainers
Regular physical activity has been shown to help prevent heart disease, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and other chronic conditions. It is important for maintaining good health in all adults and children, regardless of whether their weight is a problem or not. As the following suggestions make clear, lifestyle changes do not have to be drastic. Simple measures applied every day can make a significant difference over time. Here are a few examples:
• Increase whatever physical activity you are currently doing by adding 10 minutes a day, or increase the intensity from low to moderate. (See the box below for an idea of different activity intensity levels.)
• Limit time spent online, watching TV and playing video games to less than two hours total per day.
• Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
• Park at the far end of the parking lot and walk to your destination, rather than parking as close as possible. You can also get off the bus one stop earlier and walk the rest of the way.
• Do more household chores (such as dusting, vacuuming or weeding).
• Walk or run with the dog and/or the kids.
• Use an exercise machine (such as a treadmill or bike) while watching TV.
• Take "active" vacations—go hiking or ride bicycles.
• Walk to do errands (such as to the grocery store or post office) instead of driving.
• Buy a pedometer, which measures how many steps you take each day. Gradually increase your daily number of steps. (Pedometers can be purchased at sporting good stores.)
• Don't be embarrassed about exercising!

Inflation crossed 12% level for the 1st time in 13 years. Investors are buying real estate stocks actively on Thursday. So, Investors will never learn from their past mistakes. I can’t understand the logic behind the purchase the real estate stocks in recent days. Investors are buying stocks like DLF and Unitech to burn their fingers once again. Real Estate will be the worst performing sector in the coming days. Who will save these investors? I can’t understand why these innocent investors are underestimating the impact of inflation. There are two analytical models applied to market movement forecasts: fundamental, and technical (the study using graphical charts of past behavior of currency prices).
Fundamental analysis examines economic, political and social indicators to predict the economic health of a nation. Currencies can be viewed as the international representatives of national economies; it follows, therefore, that economic health is an important component in currency valuation. The fundamental analyst constructs forecast models based on a myriad of different indicators to predict future currency movement.

They need experience, education, and a whole lot of patience. While caring for a pet can be difficult for people with HIV/AIDS or other immunocompromising conditions, animal companionship can also be beneficial for these individuals.
Need to go out of town? A boarding kennel can give your pet quality care—and can give you peace of mind. Before loading Fido or Fluffy into the car and driving over to the nearest kennel, though, it's important to find the right kennel and prepare your pet for boarding.
Your pet depends on you to take good care of her—even when you have to be out of town.
Friends and neighbors may not have the experience or time to properly look after your pet, particularly for longer trips. So next time you have to leave your pet behind for a while, leave pet care to the professionals, such as a pet sitter or boarding kennel.
A facility specializing in care and overnight boarding allows your pet to:
• avoid the stress of a long car or airplane ride to your destination
• stay where he's welcome (unlike many hotels)
• receive more attention and supervision than he would if home alone most of the day
• be monitored by staff trained to spot health problems
• be secure in a kennel designed to foil canine and feline escape artists.
Potential drawbacks to using a boarding kennel include:
• the stress related to staying in an unfamiliar environment
• the proximity to other pets, who may expose your pet to health problems
• the difficulty of finding a kennel that accepts pets other than dogs and cats
• the inconvenience of the drive over, which can be especially hard on a pet easily stressed by car travel.
Daily Playtimes can be scheduled for a small additional fee. You can choose from a variety of one-on-one activities depending on your pet. From active play like ball catching to a peaceful, easy stroll or cuddle, each guest is given undivided personal attention. And, of course, lots of petting is always included. From shampoos, hair cuts and flea treatments - to exotic styling, pedicures, skin care, and moisturizing treatments, your pampered pet will go home looking great as well as feeling great!
Training Center offers a variety of group, private or while-boarded obedience training programs for pooches of all ages. From Puppy Kindergarten to advanced positive training, the experienced instructors will show you that it's never too late to teach your dog new tricks.
• A live-in sitter who comes to your house -- This is probably the most ideal option as it involves the lowest amount of stress on your pet. Your pet remains in his or her element. Professional pet sitters are far more eager than friends and acquaintances to cater to your pet's exceptional needs (which is to say, they are far more eager to cater to your sometimes chimerical sense of what your pet's exceptional needs are).
A live-in sitter who brings your pet to his or her house -- This is a fine alternative if the sitter is someone your pet knows well or if your sitter has a pet that is chummy with your pet (or seems willing to get chummy).
A walker/feeder -- This is a person who comes into your house once or twice a day to feed, water and walk your pet. Once again, it can be an acquaintance or a pro. This is usually cheaper than the live-in option.
A veterinarian's kennel -- Most veterinarians also provide kennel space for boarding. A veterinarian's kennel is a place for sick animals as well as healthy ones, of course. It is vital that you discuss with the vet what procedures he or she has devised for keeping healthy pets healthy in an atmosphere such as this. Find out how much time, if any, your pet will be allowed out of his or her primary enclosure each day. Some veterinarians have indoor runs, some have outdoor runs, and some have no runs at all. A run is a pen where a pet can move around a bit. Keep in mind that an austere kennel in a busy veterinary office can be a very stressful atmosphere. However, having an animal doctor on site has undeniable advantages.
Pet motels, hotels or resorts -- These run the gamut from kennels that are not much more elaborate than the sort one finds in most veterinary offices to pet resorts that specialize in services comparable to what is offered to humans in five star hotels. At a luxury hotel or resort, your pet may be given the opportunity to socialize with other pets, watch TV, get massaged, and sleep on real couches or beds.
Not only is the relationship you have with a pet important, but the relationship you have with its owner counts for major points, too. The contestants—specifically Kathleen, Jonathan, Jorge, and Jasper—scored major points with pet owners and judges alike for the bond they created with the animals and the tenderness they showed towards them. Always remember that your "grooming table-side manner" is important in more ways than one.
Every breed of dog or cat has their own individual grooming and brushing needs, and there are dozens of types of brushes available—but they each have a specific purpose. Contestants were judged on their ability to use the right brush for the right task. After acing the sheep shear using clippers, Will learned a VIP lesson, which he almost went home for (and in my mind, should have): Never use a slicker, pin, or wire brush to untangle mats on a dog's underside! He caused his Bearded Collie to yelp repeatedly after brushing out mats on the dog's private parts. OUCH!
The proper way to detangle hair or fur on a dog's belly is to use lots of conditioner, slowly parting the mats with your fingers and a comb or other appropriate grooming tool. When grooming a cat, the most important thing is to stay calm and relaxed. Unlike dogs, cats are more independent-minded, and they aren't interested in pleasing you or obtaining your praise. You only get one shot to gain a cat's respect, so slow and steady wins the race. Even the gentler, more obvious animal lovers on the show—including self-professed crazy cat lady Jessica—were bitten and scratched by the frenzied felines. In the words of the show's producers, "Meowza!"
What pet care you choose is largely dependent on your relationship with your pet and how much money you are willing to spend. The two considerations are not mutually exclusive. Some people feel their pets do not warrant fancy treatment and some people dress their dogs in clothes. Most people economize, but some people are not willing to economize on their pet.
Loan for Private Student:
Private Education Loans, also known as Alternative Education Loans, help bridge the gap between the actual cost of your education and the limited amount the government allows you to borrow in its programs. Private loans are offered by private lenders and there are no federal forms to complete. Eligibility for private student loans often depends on your credit score.
Private student loans are simple and straightforward, and can help you bridge the financial aid gap to pay for college. Whether you are an undergraduate, graduate, continuing education, or health professions student, there is a private student loan designed for you. A loan can be used for any education-related expenses including tuition, room and board, a computer and expenses associated with studying abroad such as program tuition or room and board. Also, with this loan you don't have to worry about paying it back until after you graduate.
Private student loans (also known as Alternative Student Loans) which are very different from federal student loans. Private student loans are not guaranteed or subsidized by the federal government.
Private loans are credit-based consumer loans that can be used for any education-related purpose, including books, tuition, room, board, lab fees, and transportation.
In general, private loans can be used to pay for the estimated annual cost of attendance.
As a credit-based consumer education loan, applicants may need an established credit history to be approved.
You should only use private student loans as supplemental funding after you have exhausted all other sources of financial aid, including grants, scholarships, Work-Study, and federal student loans.
As with any student loan, be conservative and only borrow what you absolutely need.
Private student can help you pay for college expenses not covered by scholarships, grants or other forms of financial aid. Private student loans often provide critical assistance when federal student loans, grants and other forms of financial aid are not enough to cover the full cost of a college education.
As you determine the best way to finance your education, you should consider the full range of student financial aid options available to you. Private loans may be used for any education related expenses such as tuition, room and board, books, computers, and past due balances. Private loans can also be used to supplement federal student loans, when federal loans, grants and other forms of financial aid are not sufficient to cover the full cost of education.
Some families turn to private education loans when the federal loans don't provide enough money or when they need more flexible repayment options. For example, a parent might want to defer repayment until the student graduates, an option that is not available from the government parent loan program. (Many PLUS loan providers are starting to allow parents to defer payments on the PLUS loan while the student is in school using an administrative forbearance. Interest continues to accrue, however.)
Private eduation loans tend to cost more than the education loans offered by the federal government, but are less expensive than credit card debt. The federal education loans offer fixed interest rates that are lower than the variable rates offered by most private student loans. Federal education loans also offer better repayment and forgiveness options. Since federal education loans are less expensive than and offer better terms than private student loans, you should exhaust your eligibility for federal student loans before resorting to private student loans.
Private student loans may be used to pay for the EFC, the family's portion of college costs. While some lenders may offer private student loans in excess of the cost of attendance, any amount exceeding the difference between cost of attendance and financial aid is considered a resource.
Like an outside scholarship, this will reduce need-based aid. (Some lenders offer non-school-certified private student loans to bypass this limitation by not informing the college about the loan. If the college becomes aware of the loan, federal regulations require the college to reduce need-based aid. Pending federal legislation would require lenders to tell colleges about all private student loans, eliminating this loophole.) This cost-of-attendance limitation only applies to education loans, which are loans that make enrollment in college a condition of the loan. It does not matter where the loan proceeds are sent (e.g., direct to the borrower vs to the school) or how the loans are marketed. On the other hand, mixed-use loans, such as home equity loans and credit cards, are not considered education loans and as such are not limited by cost-of-attendance.
Primary Pulmonary Hypertension:
Primary or unexplained pulmonary hypertension (PPH) is a rare lung disorder in which the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery rises far above normal levels for no apparent reason. The pulmonary artery is a blood vessel carrying oxygen-poor blood from the right ventricle (one of the heart's pumping chambers) to the lungs. In the lungs, the blood picks up oxygen, then flows to the heart's left side, where the left ventricle pumps it to the rest of the body through the aorta.
Hypertension is a medical term for abnormally high blood pressure. Normal average (also called "mean") pulmonary artery pressure is about 14 mm Hg at rest. In patients with PPH, the average blood pressure in the pulmonary artery is greater than 25 mm Hg at rest and greater than 30 mm Hg during exercise. This abnormally high pressure (pulmonary hypertension) is linked with changes in the small blood vessels in the lungs. These changes increase resistance to blood flowing through the vessels. This increased resistance puts a strain on the right ventricle, which now must work harder than usual to move enough blood through the lungs.
There are two main kinds of pulmonary hypertension. One runs in families or appears for no known reason. The other kind is related to another condition, usually heart or lung disease.
Treating pulmonary hypertension involves treating the heart or lung disease, medicines, oxygen and sometimes lung transplantation.
Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (IPAH) can be associated with portal hypertension (sometimes called portopulmonary hypertension), suggesting that patients with shunting of splanchnic blood, with or without liver disease, have a higher risk of developing PPH. Additionally, exposure of the pulmonary circulation to substances in the splanchnic circulation that normally are detoxified via the liver may contribute to the development of pulmonary hypertension. More research is necessary to better understand this relationship.
Patients with connective tissue diseases, namely the CREST (calcinosis cutis, Raynaud phenomenon, esophageal motility disorder, sclerodactyly, and telangiectasia) variant of scleroderma, systemic lupus erythematosus, and mixed connective tissue disease, are also predisposed to developing IPAH-like disease. This is now termed associated PAH, or APAH. However, the pathophysiologic nature of this predisposition is unclear. In the past, most experts used the term secondary pulmonary arterial hypertension for these diseases, indicating that, similar to IPAH, the process involves the precapillary circulation but is somehow caused by the underlying disease.
PAH has no cure. Untreated, IPAH leads to right-sided heart failure and death. The overall survival rate in one study was approximately 30% at 3 years. Prior to the 1990s, therapeutic options were limited. The recent emergence of prostacyclin analogues, endothelin receptor antagonists, and other novel drug therapies has greatly improved the outlook for patients with IPAH and IPAH-like diseases. In one study, the use of long-term prostacyclin agents resulted in a 5-year mortality rate greater than 65%. With newer therapies, perhaps in combination, these figures are expected to further improve.
Management
PPH is an extremely difficult condition to treat and most therapies used so far have been disappointing. Although some seem to have significant effects on symptoms and exercise tolerance in the short-term, there is little useful information on their effect on long-term survival in this devastating illness, an issue that future trial designs will have to address. Patients are best managed through regional specialist units that have the expertise to manage their severe illness, relevant complex investigations, expensive medication and clinical trial adminstration.
Anticoagulation
Retrospective studies have shown improved survival in cases of PPH that are anticoagulated but there are no RCT data available to support this therapy. Consensus is however that this is a useful treatment, supporting the idea that there is a thrombotic component to the illness.
Complications
• Deteriorating right heart function and right-sided cardiac failure
• Gross peripheral oedema
• Hepatic congestion and cardiac cirrhosis
• Pleural effusions
• Gross exertional dyspnoea
• Exertional syncope
• Sudden cardiac death
• Problems during childbirth including sudden death.
Prognosis
The outlook is not good with mortality at 3 years after diagnosis roughly 50%. Those who respond to prostacyclin therapy have a better outlook, as do those who are less severely affected at diagnosis, with best survival rates about 65% at 5 years. Those who do not respond tend to succumb to progressive right-sided heart failure if transplantation cannot be carried out.
Save ozone from pollution:
When a health issue involves the health of the planet, people often feel there is little they can do to change the course of events. The depletion of the earth is protective ozone layer is one of these mega-issues. While most of the measures needed to safeguard the ozone layer involve nations and industries, there are significant steps you can take - as an individual consumer and as a member of a society.
There's good and bad ozone, depending on where it is, though both are chemically identical-a gas formed when three atoms of oxygen, rather than the normal two, bind together. The ozone found at ground level, a by-product of car and factory pollution, is one of the more dangerous components of smog. But in the earth's stratosphere, about 10 to 25 miles above us, ozone functions as a natural screen against the sun's most damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays. Unfortunately, the ozone that pollutes our air cannot reach the stratosphere's ozone layer.
Ozone is a molecule of three oxygen atoms bound together (O3). It is unstable and highly reactive. Ozone is used as a bleach, a deodorizing agent, and a sterilization agent for air and drinking water. At low concentrations, it is toxic.
Although ozone pollution is formed mainly in urban and suburban areas, it ends up in rural areas as well, carried by prevailing winds or resulting from cars and trucks that travel into rural areas. Significant levels of ozone pollution can be detected in rural areas as far as 250 miles (150 km) downwind from urban industrial zones.
Ozone exposure can aggravate existing respiratory conditions such as asthma, reduce your lung function and capacity for exercise and cause chest pains and coughing. Young children, adults who are active outdoors and people with respiratory diseases are most susceptible to the high levels of ozone encountered during the summer.
In addition to effects on humans, the corrosive nature of ozone can damage plants and trees. High levels of ozone can destroy agricultural crops and forest vegetation.
Ozone occurs naturally in the Earth's upper atmosphere - 6 to 30 miles above the Earth's surface - where it forms a protective layer that shields us from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. Manmade chemicals are known to destroy this beneficial ozone. An area where the protective "ozone layer" has been significantly depleted-for example, over the North or South pole-is sometimes called "the ozone hole.” The United States, along with over 180 other countries, recognized the threats posed by ozone depletion and in 1987 adopted a treaty called the Montreal Protocol to phase out the production and use of ozone-depleting substances. EPA has established regulations to phase out ozone-depleting chemicals in the United States.
Ozone layer depletion is one of the number one concerns of many citizens around the world. Without the blanket of protection this stratospheric layer provides, earth would be riddled with UV radiation thereby destroying life on earth. NASA scientists are now teamed up with University of Cambridge scientists for a world class study on the dynamics of the atmosphere in a cooperative research effort designed to cure the world of CFC and halogen pollutants.
Ozone depletion is a crucial environmental problem on Earth. The growing concern over CFC production and the hole in the ozone layer is causing alarm among scientists and citizens. A battle has ensued to protect Earth's ozone layer.
In the war to save the ozone layer, and you may be at risk. The enemy is far, far away. 93 million miles away to be exact. It is the sun. Each day the Sun is a vicious warrior constantly bombarding and attacking our earth with harmful Ultra Violet radiation (UV). Earth has a shield to protect against this constant bombardment of harmful UV radiation. It is the ozone layer.
World Seven wonders:
The task of compiling the seven wonders of the world for people would have been really a tough one. There were so many marvels to choose from. The task of compiling the list of seven wonders of the world was originally started by around 5th century BC.
We all know the difficulties of old days to travel around places. People had quite tough times in travel and collecting data like these. Imaging traveling by walk or on camels or horses for 100s of miles without a proper place to rest. Of course our generation is blessed to have a large number of hotels and lodges wherever we go. We have aero places, trains, buses, cars, bikes and what not.
In spite of all such difficulties in travel, People like Herodotus, Callimachus and some others did a good level of research and documentation. They traveled a lot, collected a lot of books, facts and proofs to produce such documentation. But all of them were destroyed when a fire broke out in Alexandria Library. The final list was compiled in the Medieval ages. Alas! such a big loss. What we are left with is only some little maps/atlas and some basic documents from them.
Ancient wonders:
1. Colossus of Rhodes
2. Hanging Gardens
3. Lighthouse Alexandria
4. Mausoleum
5. Pyramid of Khufu
6. Temple of Zeus
7. Temple of Artemis
There are five flaws in the ancient wonders. They are:
Flaw 1: The ancient seven wonders cover less than 5% of the world's surface - and reside in a nucleus of only 4 countries.
Flaw 2: The ancient Seven Wonders of the World list is Greek-centric. Six of the seven wonders were built or inspired by Grecian culture.
Flaw 3: The Colosseum of Rome and nearly all other standing structures that we regard today as ancient and great wonders were still unbuilt when the original list was conceived.
Flaw 4: When the list was composed (likely in Alexandria, Egypt in the 2nd century BC), all seven wonders were indeed wondrous. But today, only the Pyramid of Khufu is recognizable. Time was unkind to the other six. Little if anything remains of them.
Flaw 5: Natural wonders were ignored by the ancient 7 wonder list.
Today's wonders:
1.Pyramids of Egypt
2.Great Wall
3.Taj Mahal
4.Serengeti Migration
5.Galapagos
6.Grand Canyon
7.Machu Picchu
No one knows today what six of the ancient seven wonders looked like. All the paintings and drawings we see today stem from the imaginations of artists who lived long after those six wonders perished. The ones I use on my web pages for the seven individual wonders are perhaps the best. Lowell Thomas, who I knew and admired, personally gave them to me in the form of literature promoting his 1956 "Seven Wonders of the World" Cinerama movie.
The oldest known reference to a 7 wonder listing was written in the 5th century BC by Herodotus, the famous Greek historian. This was two centuries before the Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria were built.
Two of the ancient seven wonders are royal tombs (Pyramid of Khufu and Mausoleum at Halicarnassus). Two involve Greek temples (Temple of Artemis and the Statue of Zeus, which was the focal point of the Temple of Zeus). Two relate to Mediterranean harbors (Colossus of Rhodes and Lighthouse of Alexandria). The Hanging Gardens of Babylon stand alone.
Earthquakes helped destroy the majority of the ancient seven wonders. The four victims are the Colossus of Rhodes, Lighthouse of Alexandria, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus and Temple of Artemis. The three exceptions are the Statue of Zeus (by fire), Hanging Gardens of Babylon (by water damage and brick deterioration) and Pyramid of Khufu (still going strong).
Mesothelioma and its symptoms:
Mesothelioma is a serious and rare form of lung cancer. It is most frequently seen in men between the ages of 50 to 70. Women are affected far less frequently. In the US, between 2000 and 3000 cases are diagnosed each year. Estimates suggest that the incidence of mesothelioma for every 100,000 in the US is about 1.8 and 0.9 internationally. This form of cancer affects people of every race equally. The number of people who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma has increased significantly in the past 30 years. Although many advances in treatment have been made, there is no cure for this type of cancer.
Mesothelioma develops many years after exposure to asbestos. Sometimes, it may be 30 to 40 years before symptoms occur. Unfortunately, in the early stages of the disease, symptoms may be vague or not noticeable. Thus, if you have been exposed to asbestos in the past, even for a very brief time, it’s important to have regular check-ups to detect any lung abnormalities, even if you don’t have symptoms.
Symptoms of Mesothelioma may include:
* Coughing
* Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
* Difficulty Sleeping
* Weight Loss
* Pain in chest and abdomen
* Fluid in the chest
One of the most common symptoms of mesothelioma is a pleural effusion, or an accumulation of fluid between the parietal pleura (the pleura covering the chest wall and diaphragm) and the visceral pleura (the pleura covering the lungs). Both of these membranes are covered with mesothelial cells which, under normal conditions, produce a small amount of fluid that acts as a lubricant between the chest wall and the lung. Any excess fluid is absorbed by blood and lymph vessels maintaining a balance. When too much fluid forms, the result is an effusion.
As the volume of fluid increases, shortness of breath, known as "dyspnea", and sometimes pain, ranging from mild to stabbing, may occur. Some patients may experience a dry cough. When the doctor listens to the patient’s chest with a stethoscope, normal breath sounds are muted, and tapping on the chest will reveal dull rather than hollow sounds.
Mesothelioma is difficult to diagnose because the early signs and symptoms of the disease can be subtle at best. Symptoms are all too frequently ignored or dismissed by people who are inclined to attribute them to common every day ailments. Sometimes patients live with symptoms for up to 6 months before being diagnosed but usually the symptoms are present for two to three months prior to diagnosis.
About 60% of patients diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma experience lower back pain or side chest pain and there are frequent reports of shortness of breath. Lower numbers of people may experience difficulty swallowing, or have a persistent cough, fever, weight loss or fatigue. Symptoms to also consider are muscle weakness, loss of sensory capability, coughing up blood, facial and arm swelling and hoarseness.
Asbestos as the Primary Cause of Mesothelioma:
Asbestos is a type of insulation material, which was used widely in the past in the following industries:
* Construction industry
* Ship building industry
* Automotive industry
* Other manufacturing industries
Mesothelioma occurred most often in persons who worked in the above industries and were exposed to asbestos in their workplace. The use of asbestos was very widespread after 1945. However, first symptoms of mesothelioma may not become apparent 10-40 years after the initial exposure, which makes it very hard to diagnose. The peak in mesothelioma cases is expected to be reached around 2010 according to some studies. There are three most commonly used types of asbestos: white, brown, and blue. Brown and blue asbestos are most commonly associated with mesothelioma. These types of asbestos have been banned by most countries in the 1990s.
Asbestos is a very dangerous substance and can cause a lot of damage to your health. It is made up of very small fibers, which can find their way to pleura (outside lining of the lung) and damage the cells pleura is made of. These fibers can also be carried on clothing, which makes them dangerous not only to the person exposed to asbestos, but to their family members as well.
The risk of asbestos-related disease increases with heavier exposure to asbestos and longer exposure time. However, some individuals with only brief exposures have developed mesothelioma. On the other hand, not all workers who are heavily exposed develop asbestos-related diseases.
There is some evidence that family members and others living with asbestos workers have an increased risk of developing mesothelioma, and possibly other asbestos-related diseases. This risk may be the result of exposure to asbestos dust brought home on the clothing and hair of asbestos workers. To reduce the chance of exposing family members to asbestos fibers, asbestos workers are usually required to shower and change their clothing before leaving the workplace.
Mesothelioma is a life-threatening disease and cannot be left untreated. The sooner it is diagnosed the better a patient's chances are of fighting this deadly cancer. Please contact a qualified physician immediately if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with mesothelioma.
Tile Business:
As new properties mushroom across the country, it is not surprising to see tile manufacturers doing well.
To say that tile companies are witnessing robust demand thanks to the boom in construction space is a no-brainer. The credit for the upswing in the tile market should also be attributed to the change in aesthetic tastes of house owners and corporates.
Builders are coming up with sprawling residential complexes, corporates are spending on plush offices and classy malls are springing up everywhere, so tile makers are surely having a good time.
Anticipating that the construction boom is far from peaking out, some companies are making a smart comeback in the ceramic tile segment and strengthening its position in the vitrified tiles market.
Though investors are yet to take a fancy to the scrip, analysts feel that an increasing brand presence should help the company to command better valuations that it deserves.
Over the past five years, the Rs 5,000 crore Indian tiles market is growing at an annualised rate of around 20 per cent. The upturn in construction and real estate space is bolstering the demand for tiles and organised tile players, which account for 55 per cent of the market, are speeding up their capacity expansions.
The vitrified tiles market is poised to grow at an annualised rate of 30 per cent backed by robust demand from corporates and mall owners who prefer these durable and low maintenance tiles. But ceramic tiles have an edge over vitrified tiles when it comes to looks as the former offer a wide variety of textures and colours.
Demand for ceramic tiles comes from showrooms and households where aethetics count and with people spending more on interiors, demand is likely to be robust. Also, vitrified tiles are typically more expensive than ceramic tiles.
Wall tiles are coming in the following sizes:
• 8" X 12" (200mm X 300mm)
• 10" X 13" (250mm X 330mm)
• 10" X 16" (250mm X 400mm)
Floor tiles are coming in the following sizes:
• 12" X 12" (300mm X 300mm)
• 16" X 16" (400mm X 400mm)
Exports of floor and wall tiles from China are expanding fast. In spite of increasing production costs and shortages of materials, exports rose 32% in the first 11 months of 2004.Manufacturers in this mature, highly competitive industry are trying to sustain such strong export growth, particularly by improving quality and keeping prices affordable. With profiles of 90 suppliers, this China Sourcing Report will show you how to profit from China's expanding supply-market activity. At your fingertips, you'll have the facts you need to benchmark current suppliers and shortlist potential new ones. You'll also benefit from an industry overview, practical price guides and more.
The nanotechnology employs exceptionally small chemical particles to provide superior sealing of the porosity of the tile surface. The coating’s molecules chemically bond to the hills and valleys of the tile’s surface, creating an exceptionally durable coating that provides both hydrophobic and oleophobic protection.
There are two main customer benefits associated with using pre-seal polished porcelain tiles. Firstly, the end user does not have to go to the trouble and expense of removing the protective wax that is traditionally applied at the factory, only to have to seal the tile again after it is laid. The tiles are ready to lay with no additional expense for the sealing process. Secondly, superior non-stick and easy-to-clean properties, ensuring a much easier ownership experience.

Adverse Credit Mortgage:
Remortgaging means switching to a different mortgage deal. This could be with your existing mortgage lender, but more often than not it will be with a different bank or building society.
In times gone by, many people never bothered to remortgage, but it looks like that situation has begun to change in the past couple of years.
According to the Council of Mortgage Lenders, in January 2003 (for the first time ever) remortgages accounted for more than 50% of the total monies advanced by mortgage lenders.
Millions of UK mortgage borrowers are currently paying their lender’s relatively expensive standard variable rate (SVR), Remortgaging to, for example, a discounted or fixed rate mortgage can often save you money each month.
There are several reasons why an existing mortgage borrower may wish to remortgage and consider switching to another lender such as:
• To release equity, taking advantage of house price increases
• Debt consolidation, paying off expensive loans and credit and store cards
• Buying out a former partner
• Looking for a mortgage with more flexible features
• Securing a lower and fixed rate of interest with peace of mind for the future
• Looking for a lower variable interest rate
A remortgage is essentially a switch from your current mortgage to another that allows you lower interest rates. Thus, you end up saving and are more able to make your payments on time, every time. This is a good idea if your credit history has already been damaged due to previous defaults etc.
We understand that sometimes a customer’s credit can be a problem when it comes to obtaining finance in the current market. Your credit history may have been damaged due to defaults, arrears or a County Court Judgment (CCJ). Whatever the cause, the fact remains that once your credit history is adverse, it has long-term effects on your financial future. You find that you have virtually no freedom or options when it comes to making financial decisions.
Remortgages are sometimes used to release the equity of your property in order to give you access to a large sum. This type of finance is commonly used to obtain the monies necessary for home improvements, a new car or even a family holiday.
A remortgage can be a way of saving money but it can also be a great way to raise or save money. Remortgages are one of the cheapest available loans with low interest rates. Remortgaging makes sense if you want to raise cash.
If the market value of your property is greater than the outstanding commercial mortgage, then you have positive equity and you can increase the size of your mortgage and release the positive equity. Most UK properties have increased in value over the last few years providing homeowners with positive equity. You could remortgage and release your positive equity release through bridging loans for many reasons including debt management in the UK.
In an increasingly competitive market place mortgage lenders are offering incentive deals to attract new customers. As a result many home owners are saving thousands of pounds by remortgaging. However if you suffer from an adverse credit history you may experience difficulty in taking advantage of these deals.
Adverse credit, otherwise known as poor or bad credit, can severely affect your ability to remortgage your home. People with an imperfect track record are placed in a ‘high-risk’ category by mortgage lenders – as a result many applications are refused. The process of trying to find a remortgage can be a time-consuming and frustrating affair.
Many homeowners throughout the United Kingdom are now paying higher rates of interest than they need to - all because their mortgages repayments are no longer at the low rates that probably applied at the start of their mortgage term. However, by remortgaging they can once again enjoy the introductory discount deals offered by nearly all mortgage lenders.
Even if your mortgage carries and early repayment charge, it may work out cheaper to pay the charge and switch lenders. All forms are free to complete and carry no obligation whatsoever.
Adverse Rremortgages could help you to reduce your current mortgage payments, or to borrow additional capital at a better rate in order to help clear other debt
A remortgage with arrears could offer you less expensive rates than other credit agreements. That means cheaper repayments. If you’re struggling with remortgage difficulty, raising the cash you need doesn’t have to be as costly. Discover the advantages for yourself. Remortgage arrears may not be a problem.
Gateway for Antispam:
Antispam provides the most comprehensive solution to email threats on the market today. Antispam software allows you to create an email appliance, real or virtual server for your gateway offering protection from Viruses, Spam, Malware, Phishing and unwanted content. The solution uses best of breed technologies to provide an easily installed, easily managed and highly secure solution for your email.
Threats over email like spam, phishing, viruses, worms, are released in the billions within a short span of time. Today’s attackers launch threats for financial gain rather than out of malicious intent. They mask the originator and launch the attack using a network of zombie machines. With Zombie botnets carrying the ability to send up to 1 billion spam messages within a few hours, the spread of the attack is rapid.
To effectively match the speed with which attacks spread, zero-hour responsiveness is required to deliver enterprise security. Zero-hour protection swings into action, generating defenses in the first hour of an attack. Further, the content and characteristics of the message within a single attack differ, making it difficult to identify the threat through traditional methods. Solutions that rely on signature databases are likely to leave the enterprise defenses lowered during the critical first hours of attack.
Spam is more than annoying solicitations, it can be very dangerous. Some spam messages may contain links to fraudulent web sites, may take the form of phishing attacks, or may contain malicious code. Secure Computing studies show that as much as 90 percent of all emails are spam, which can endanger your network and drain your productivity. Anti-spam technology is an important part of your security environment.
Because of the increased use of blended attacks that include deceptive spam emails, anti-spam technology has taken on much greater importance. Every security installation should include anti-spam technology.
Another common problem is the presence of zombie PCs. Spammers infiltrate your network and hijack your PCs, using them to send out millions of spam emails a day. Without appropriate anti-spam technology, your own network and domain could be used to send out spam, draining your bandwidth and damaging your reputation. Unfortunately, not all anti-spam technologies are effective against zombie attacks. Secure Computing's Unified Threat Management platform helps to prevent spammers from turning your network PCs into zombies.
Corporate email has become the target of spammers during the past year, registering a 50% increase year over year. Organizations have struggled as most anti-spam technologies such as content filtering, heuristics and IP blacklisting have not been able to keep up with the spammers’ ever-growing sophistication. New techniques using images and randomization helped messages slip by conventional anti-spam solutions. Image-spam was particularly damaging in 2006 as its large files accounted for 70% of spam bandwidth bulge, taxing networks heavily. Spam accounts for an average of 87% of all internet traffic.
REALITIES & CHALLENGES
•Image-based spam is a new and growing problem, leading to loss of productivity and a drain on IT resources.
•Another technique is to send animated GIFs, with several frames of random noise.
•Traditional AntiSpam technologies cannot keep up with increasing spammer sophistication
•Zombies have spread to all geographies, reaching 8 million hosts on a given day, accounting for 85% of spam circulating the Internet
•Corporate Spam level soared 50% in 2006 compared with a year ago
•Remotely-controlled armies of zombies (botnets) can send up to 1 billion messages in just few hours
•Global spam rate: 45% -98% varying by target audience, with a global average of 87%
•Colossal multi-wave image-spam outbreaks have brought spam bloat to 1.7 billion MB per day
Carolina Lemon law:
The 1987 General Assembly enacted a lemon law to give better remedies to North Carolina consumers who buy or lease a new car that is a lemon. The lemon law (a) defines clearly what cars are lemons, (b) spells out exactly the relief to which the purchaser of, and consumer leasing a lemon is entitled and (c) provides that a manufacturer who unreasonably refuses to grant to the buyer of or consumer leasing a lemon the relief to which he is entitled must pay the consumer triple damages and attorney`s fees.
The lemon law does not apply just to passenger cars. It covers any new motor vehicle other than a house trailer, provided that the vehicle does not have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more. Thus, the law covers pickup trucks, motorcycles and most vans, as well as cars. And the purpose for which the vehicle is purchased or leased is not relevant. But, any cars purchased or leased prior to October 1, 1987 is not covered by the lemon law.
Vehicles Covered:
Any new motor vehicle other than a house trailer, provided that the vehicle does not have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more. This includes pickup trucks, motorcycles and most vans.
Repair Interval and Coverage Period:
• 4 repair attempts or more than 20 days out of service during any 12 month period.
• 2 years or 24,000 miles.
A Car A Lemon:
A vehicle is a lemon if it is seriously defective and could not be repaired in a reasonable number of attempts.
Seriously Defective:
A serious defect is any defect or condition or series of defects or conditions which substantially impair the value of the motor vehicle to the consumer. The defect must be in a part of the car covered by the manufacturer`s express warranty, but it is not limited to things which make the car driveable. Leaks, lack of air conditioning or heat or serious paint problems, to name a few, could be defects which substantially impair the value of the vehicle to the buyer.
Passed into law on October 3, 1989, South Carolina’s lemon law covers new cars, light trucks and vans for a period of one year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Not included are the living portion of motor homes and vehicles designed for off road use.
The law defines a lemon as any vehicle which has a defect which substantially impairs the vehicle’s use, market value or safety. Excluded from this definition are any defects which are the result of accident, abuse, neglect, unauthorized modification or alteration.
As with most lemon laws, the manufacturer is allowed a “reasonable” number of attempts to repair the vehicle before it may be declared to be a lemon. South Carolina defines “reasonable” to mean three or more attempts to repair the same defect. A vehicle also qualifies if it is out of service for thirty or more days for the same repair. The thirty days need not be consecutive for the vehicle to qualify. This period may be extended should the manufacturer be unable to make the necessary repairs due to circumstances beyond its control, such as fire, flood, strike, fire, war or other natural disaster.
You have rights under the auto lemon law. Knowing these rights will maximize your chances of successfully asserting your rights. Keep good records of all the repairs you've had done, and check your vehicle's warranty in order to inform yourself about the proper steps to take to guarantee legal recourse. Be sure to try to resolve the matter with the automobile dealer, then the manufacturer. If you cannot resolve the problem with the dealer or manufacturer, use this page to find a qualified lemon law lawyer to help you with your claim.
Required time, odometer mileage, number of repair attempts and calendar days the lemon vehicle is out of service, as well as other lemon law requirements vary from state to state. Consult with a lemon law lawyer in your state to find out your state's specific auto lemon laws.
Manufacturers to provide annual written summaries of certain motor vehicles; forms; records to be made available; penalties.
Every manufacturer, in a format and a form that must be mailed annually to each manufacturer approved by the Administrator of the Department of Consumer Affairs, shall provide a written summary of all motor vehicles repurchased or replaced under this chapter no less than once each calendar year. In addition, every manufacturer shall make available any paperwork, reports, or other information regarding vehicles subject to this chapter upon request by the administrator. Failure to supply either the written summaries of repurchased vehicles or respond to reasonable requests for information by the administrator subjects the manufacturer to an administrative penalty not to exceed one thousand dollars for each violation which the administrator in his discretion may impose.
Nonconformity with express warranties; notice required; repairs required.
If a new motor vehicle does not conform to all applicable express warranties within the first twelve months of purchase or the first twelve thousand miles of operation, whichever occurs first, and the consumer reports the nonconformity to the manufacturer or its agent during the term of the express warranties, the manufacturer, or its agent, shall make those repairs as are necessary to conform the vehicle to the express warranties at no cost to the consumer, notwithstanding the fact that the repairs are made after the expiration of the term.
Replacement of motor vehicle; refund of purchase price.
If, within the term specified in Section 56-28-30, the manufacturer, through its agents or authorized dealer, is unable to conform the motor vehicle to any applicable express warranty by repairing or correcting any defect or condition which substantially impairs the use, market value, or safety of the motor vehicle to the consumer after a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacturer shall replace the motor vehicle with a comparable motor vehicle, or at its option, accept return of the vehicle from the consumer and refund to the consumer the full purchase price as delivered including applicable finance charges, sales taxes, license fees, registration fees, and any other similar governmental charges, less a reasonable allowance for the consumer's use of the vehicle. Refunds must be made to the consumer and lienholder, if any, as their interest may appear on the record of ownership kept by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
What colors do in our life
Colors are one of the most beautiful and also one of the most under-appreciated aspects of the physical realm. We are surrounded by colors, but how often do we notice the numerous subtleties in the myriad shades.
Spiritually, color can impart both information - as in aura colors, and energy - as in healing. The aura is the spiritual energy field surrounding living beings which is "visible" to the psychically sensitive.
As the festival of Holi comes it brings with it the colors of life and colors of love. Colors fill our world with beauty. Wherever we see colors we see life. The beautiful colors of nature fills our life with joy. There is lot of significance of colors in our life. We blend our life with colors in various ways. Colors have long lasting impressions on our mind. They play an important part in our lives. Nature is a spectrum of colors. It portrays every shades of colors through flowers, snow peaked mountains, green trees, sea, rivers and muddy lands. We communicate our feelings and emotions through colors. A painting becomes real only when the artist knows the actual use of colors.
Different colors describe different moods and feelings. Traditionally Holi was celebrated with dry colors known as 'Gulal', which were prepared naturally from the flowers and other products that had dyeing properties. However with time, those natural colors have been replaced by strong colors, chemically enhanced and artificial colors. To avoid these strong chemical colors you can use prepare natural colors at home. Different colors have different implications.
They are as follows. The color Red signifies danger, passion, blood and fire.
It induces the feeling of strength and power. It also portrays anger it is considered the color of the Mars, the Roman God of war. Red signifies happiness too.Blue signify sadness. It is the color for peace and heavenly living. Blue signifies soberness and happiness. Green is the color of envy, the jealousy for others. Green is poisonous but amazingly green is the color of Nature. It sustains life. Yellow color reflects cowardice. It makes one weak & sick. However, some believe Yellow is brilliance and brings warmth. Year before, tribal people believed that success came from west which is red, north is blue which brings trouble. Person who loves yellow has vivid imagination. Clear thoughts and well organized and a person with pride.
Black is bad luck, white is peace; black is evil, white is virgin; black is sorrow, white is happiness; black brings depression; white is dignity and purity. White is revealing of truth, black is worst crime. Orange portrays ambition and motivates one's creativity. Violet is royal. It is mystery. Grey suggests retirement and quietness. So this Holi remember the significance of the colors before you apply them on your friends and relatives.Red, the color of human blood, symbolizes passion, fire, love, and anger. In Eastern cultures, it also connotes luck and prosperity.

This highly visible hue is found on everything from bumblebees to school buses, traffic signs to highlighters. Misbehaving soccer players are shown yellow as a warning, and Tour de France racers know the man in yellow is the rider to beat. evoked its powers for everything from politics to sports.
The use of Colour as a Therapy is a truly holistic, non-invasive and powerful therapy which dates back thousands of years; evidence of this can be found in ancient texts from India, China and Egypt.
Colour is simply light of varying wavelengths / frequencies. We are in a world where colour dominates our lives, from reading signs on the road to seeing if fruit is ripe to eat. It affects our moods - blue is calming - red can make us tense.
Diamond Business:
After gold, silver and platinum, now it is turn for diamond, which is likely to burn a hole in the pocket. Big and good quality diamonds have seen a dramatic rise in prices, ranging anywhere between 15% and 40% in the past year, according to diamond merchants. Even smaller diamonds up to one carat have seen a rise of 10-15%.
Diamond sellers are setting their sights on Latin America's increasingly prosperous middle class, which is benefiting from economic growth and stability, as U.S. and European sales of the rare stones slow.
Latin America is rich in minerals, providing the gold, silver and emeralds that bankrolled Spanish and Portuguese empires, but it has long been a backwater in the diamond trade despite modest production in Brazil, Venezuela and Guyana.
To meet the new demand, Panama is building Latin America's first diamond exchange expected to be recognized by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, one of the main players in the wholesale diamond market.
DUBAI — Total trade in rough diamonds in Dubai grew 36% to $3,03bn in the first half of this year, including imports from SA, Russia and Angola, the Dubai Diamond Exchange said on Saturday.
Dubai’s rough diamond imports rose 23% to $1,15bn, while exports surged 44% to $1,88bn compared with the same period a year earlier, the exchange said.
Dubai exported rough gems valued at $2,82bn last year, while imports for the same period stood at $2bn, mainly from Russia, SA and Angola.
“While exports in terms of carats grew marginally in the first half of this year, the price of diamonds rose 10% and helped push the overall trade to high levels,” exchange CE Youri Steverlynck said.
India, along with Angola, the European Commission (EC) and China, were the top diamond trading partners for Dubai in the first six months of 2008, jointly accounting for around 85 per cent of total trade volumes.

Facial Surgeries:
We all know that true beauty begins from within. But let's face it, physical attractiveness reflects inner beauty and is an essential element of positive self-image, esteem, and overall well-being. We simply feel better, when we look our best. We don't hesitate to repair and update our homes or trade in our vehicles for the latest model, so why should reconstructive surgery or restoring a youthful appearance be considered any different?
Some aspects of the Facial Surgery are:
• Face lift
• Neck lift
• Eyelid surgery
• Forehead (brow lift)
Face lift:
A face lift is a procedure that can make your face look younger and fresher. It can turn back the hands of time by lifting your sagging cheeks, smoothing your jawline, tightening the loose skin of your neck, removing excess fat below your chin and improving a "turkey gobbler" appearance of your neck. It will improve the jaw line (jowls), changes in the neck that occur as a natural result of aging or heredity, and changes resulting from the skin's loss of tone and elasticity. Face lifts are chosen by men and women and can enhance self-confidence in those who decide to have them.
Neck lift:
A neck lift (technically known as rhytidectomy) can't stop this aging process. What it can do is "set back the clock," improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your neck. A neck lift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
The best candidate for a necklift is a man or woman whose neck has begun to sag, but whose skin still has some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. Most patients are in their forties to sixties, but necklifts can be done successfully on people in their seventies or eighties as well.
Eyelid surgery:
This surgery treats the delicate areas around the eyes, which are the first areas to show signs of aging or fatigue. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) removes excess skin and muscle, as well as protruding fat, from around the upper and lower eyelids. It can correct droopy upper eyelids and puffy bags below the lower eyelid. The exact procedure depends on your needs and the condition of the eyelids. Some people need only their upper or lower lids treated.
Forehead (browlift):
The goal of the procedure is to raise the brow to a more aesthetically appealing position. It will also improve fullness over the outside corner of the lid, a scowling appearance of the eyes and horizontal frown lines of the forhead. It is frequently performed with an upper lid blepharoplasty and can be performed with a face lift to provide facial balance and harmony.
Apart from the above four surgeries, Liposuction , Facial Cosmetic surgery, Nose surgery and Skin Rejuvenation surgeries can also be done.
Rhinoplasty is surgery to the nose to reshape and refine nasal bones and cartilage for a variety of reasons; to change the appearance of the nose to better complement the face; correct injury or birth defect; and/or improve breathing (deviated septum). The nose may be modified to reduce or increase the size of the bridge, slope, angle or nostrils. Rhinoplasty may be performed on all age groups including the elderly and teens, but most surgeons advise waiting until patients are at least 14 before undergoing this type of surgery, due to the fact that the nose may not be fully developed before that time. Rhinoplasty may also be combined with chin augmentation to improve the profile.
Hair removal using Laser:
Laser hair removal is the use of laser energy to produce long-term hair reduction. This is accomplished by producing heat in the hair, which is transferred to the hair follicle, which in-turn produces inflammation, and this inflammation sends a signal to the hair follicle to go into the resting (telogen) phase.
First of all, what is a laser? A laser is a device that produces light of a single color or wavelength. In dermatology, these lasers produce pulses of high-energy light that is taken up by the desired target. In the case of hair removal, the target is the melanin pigment contained within the hair shaft.
Normally, a series of three to five treatments are administered at four to eight week intervals depending upon the location of the hair. Following the initial series of treatments, subsequent treatments are administered, usually at longer and longer intervals.
In addition to lasers, intense pulsed light sources are also used for hair removal. These light sources do not emit a single color or wavelength of light, but emit light containing many colors. It may be more difficult to predict the outcome and avoid complications when using light sources that contain many wavelengths of light. However, the results with any device depend upon the experience of the practitioner.
Worth the cost:
While laser hair removal can be costly, many patients find the treatment's lasting effects and reduced hair growth more than worth the cost. The cost of a laser hair removal treatment varies depending on the area being treated, the physician performing the treatment, the number of treatments in a package, and other considerations. Since all individuals have their own unique pattern of hair growth, it is difficult to give a precise estimate of the number of treatments needed to completely eliminate your problem hair, or the exact cost of doing so. The safest approach is to set up a consultation with a physician in order to better understand prices for your particular case.
Different types of lasers used for hair removal:
• Alexandrite
• Diode
• Light based sources
• Q-Switched Nd:YAG
• Ruby
Laser Hair Removal, when first introduced in the late 1990’s, was limited to light skinned individuals with dark hair. Efficient Laser Hair Removal was produced by Alexandrite and Diode lasers. Dark skinned individuals could not use these lasers for effective hair removal because early generation lasers were unable to distinguish between skin pigment and hair follicles, which led to the burning of those with darker skin. Today this has all changed. The advent of the new laser line, the YAG, and the re-invention of the IPL system has afforded excellent results for individuals with dark skin and dark hair.
While hair removal by laser has been in existence for almost 10 years, it is still a relatively up and coming procedure. When researching laser hair removal, consumers come across many concerns including, typical cost of laser hair removal, seeing before and after shots of laser hair removal pictures and any laser hair removal risk that could be involved, including laser hair removal side effects and undergoing treatments for laser hair removal during pregnancy. Laser Hair Removal continually strives to effectively address many of these concerns.
For many women and men, unwanted hair can be a nuisance…or even a nightmare. Until recently, removing it was uncomfortable, inconvenient, expensive and time-consuming. With the exception of electrolysis, which can be prohibitively expensive and painful, most other methods are temporary at best.
But that has all changed. Today, with the remarkable advances in laser technology, unwanted hair is being removed safely and affordably. Laser Hair Removal has been extensively researched, tested and proven highly effective in permanently reducing unwanted hair. It works on just about any treatment area of the body where smooth skin is desired…underarms, face, neck, legs, shoulders, back, bikini line, you name it.
The laser pulses for just a fraction of a second, heating the hair follicle and impairing its ability to re-grow. Significantly less hair grows back with each treatment…ultimately resulting in your goal of permanent hair reduction. The number of treatments required varies from individual to individual.
Hair growth cycles differ on different parts of the body. Your skin and hair color, coarseness of hair as well as age, metabolism and other individual factors influence hair growth rate. The experienced staff will work with you in designing a schedule to optimize your results.
Home equity credit Line:
Using a credit line to borrow against the equity in your home has become a popular source of consumer credit. And lenders are offering these home equity credit lines in a variety of ways.
You will find most loans come with variable interest rates, some come with attractive low introductory rates, and a few come with fixed rates. You also may find most loans have large one-time upfront fees, others have closing costs, and some have continuing costs, such as annual fees. You can find loans with large balloon payments at the end of the loan, and others with no balloons but with higher monthly payments.
If you need to borrow money, home equity lines may be one useful source of credit. Initially at least, they may provide you with large amounts of cash at relatively low interest rates. And they may provide you with certain tax advantages unavailable with other kinds of loans. (Check with your tax adviser for details.)
At the same time, home equity lines of credit require you to use your home as collateral for the loan. This may put your home at risk if you are late or cannot make your monthly payments. Those loans with a large final (balloon) payment may lead you to borrow more money to pay off this debt, or they may put your home in jeopardy if you cannot qualify for refinancing. And, if you sell your home, most plans require you to pay off your credit line at that time. In addition, because home equity loans give you relatively easy access to cash, you might find you borrow money more freely.
Interest rates for loans differ, so it pays to check with several lenders for the lowest rate. Compare the annual percentage rate (APR), which indicates the cost of credit on a yearly basis. Be aware that the advertised APR for home equity credit lines is based on interest alone. For a true comparison of credit costs, compare other charges, such as points and closing costs, which will add to the cost of your home equity loan. This is especially important if you are comparing a home equity credit line with a traditional installment (or second) mortgage, where the APR includes the total credit costs for the loan.
In addition, ask about the type of interest rates available for the home equity plan. Most home equity credit lines have variable interest rates. These variable rates may offer lower monthly payments at first, but during the rest of the repayment period the payments may change and may be higher. Fixed interest rates, if available, may be slightly higher initially than variable rates, but fixed rates offer stable monthly payments over the life of the credit line.
If you are in the market for credit, a home equity plan is one of several options that might be right for you. Before making a decision, however, you should weigh carefully the costs of a home equity line against the benefits. Shop for the credit terms that best meet your borrowing needs without posing undue financial risks. And remember, failure to repay the amounts you've borrowed, plus interest, could mean the loss of your home.
A home equity line of credit is a form of revolving credit in which your home serves as collateral. Because a home often is a consumer's most valuable asset, many homeowners use home equity credit lines only for major items, such as education, home improvements, or medical bills, and choose not to use them for day-to-day expenses.
With a home equity line, you will be approved for a specific amount of credit. Many lenders set the credit limit on a home equity line by taking a percentage (say, 75%) of the home's appraised value and subtracting from that the balance owed on the existing mortgage.
Many home equity plans set a fixed period during which you can borrow money, such as 10 years. At the end of this "draw period," you may be allowed to renew the credit line. If your plan does not allow renewals, you will not be able to borrow additional money once the period has ended. Some plans may call for payment in full of any outstanding balance at the end of the period. Others may allow repayment over a fixed period (the "repayment period"), for example, 10 years.
Before entering into a plan, consider how you will pay back the money you borrow. Some plans set a minimum monthly payment that includes a portion of the principal (the amount you borrow) plus accrued interest. But, unlike with typical installment loan agreements, the portion of your payment that goes toward principal may not be enough to repay the principal by the end of the term. Other plans may allow payment of interest only during the life of the plan, which means that you pay nothing toward the principal. If you borrow $10,000, you will owe that amount when the payment plan ends.
Regardless of the minimum required payment on your home equity line, you may choose to pay more, and many lenders offer a choice of payment options. Many consumers choose to pay down the principal regularly as they do with other loans. For example, if you use your line to buy a boat, you may want to pay it off as you would a typical boat loan.
Investment in HYIP:
HYIP, which stands for High Yield Investment Program is just what it sounds like, a program offering a high yield investment. HYIP's are offering probably the most profitable investments available today. Interest rates of up to 100% a month is not uncommon. In general the interest rates are ranging anywhere between 5 – 250% a month.
Given the fact that the HYIP industry is a very risky one, most people are very hesitant when it comes to investing in HYIP's – which is legitimate. However, not being aware of the risks is the main reason why people are losing their money. There is a great number of cases where people have thought they’ve found an incredible opportunity and gladly invested their entire fortune. When the programs later went out of business, the consequences have been devastating.
Although there are unserious players in all markets, the HYIP arena seem to have more of them than many other industries. The reason for this is the big amounts of money involved and the fact that it’s pretty easy to steal money on the net.
Achieving success in online investment requires developing Habits and Attitudes that brings a mindset to fully exploit the benefits of HYIPs. This Mindset is the most decisive factor to turn Your Dreams into reality and accomplish incredible success in HYIP arena.
Most HYIP investors lose their hard earned money badly. Why? Because most of them lack knowledge and experience on how to deal in HYIPs arena. In other words they do not have knowledge on how to choose a particular HYIP for investment, how to manage their investment, what strategies and techniques to use, etc. They learn their lessons the hard way: they lose a lot of money first by investing how they shouldn't, and then they try to learn what they needed to know in the first place. HYIP pros are different. They learn first how to do all the hard things. They learn all about HYIP strategies and techniques. They set goals, make daily and weekly plans and measure their progress. They do not waste their time wondering around sites unless they have hard evidence that these sites will bring them success.
Goal setting is a very powerful technique that can yield strong returns in all areas of your life. At its simplest level the process of setting goals and targets allows you to choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know what you have to concentrate on and improve.
HYIP Pros set sharp, clearly defined goals so that they will be able to achieve more and improve their performance. By setting goals, and measuring their achievement, they are able to see what they have done and what they are capable of. The process of achieving goals and seeing their achievement gives them the confidence and self-belief that they will be able to achieve higher and more difficult goals. HYIP Pros have a clear sense of purpose and direction in every area of their investment in HYIPs.
HYIP Pros are always involved looking beyond the obvious, they act like a watchdog. They watch for important information about particular HYIP indications of potential problems or red flags, clues that a HYIP may be heading for trouble.
They know what a healthy HYIP looks like, how Ponzi’s look like, how they behave and what tricks HYIP scammers use to cheat investors.
HYIP Pros understand that high yield investment programs are risky. Therefore, they are always ready to accept any lose. But, they learn from their mistakes.
HYIP Pros never quit. They know that HYIPs always caries risk and they are constantly working to avoid these risks. When things go wrong, they don’t give up; they Keep on working hard and consistently and finally succeed. They know there is no magic bullet that will make them rich overnight without much effort. They are always patient to see the result.
Before investing in High Yield Investment Programs there are several aspects to take into consideration. Here’s a list of the most important ones:
› Always get some knowledge about the High Yield Investment industry before making a decision to invest your money in High Yield Investment Programs. A good advice is to read every page of this website before doing anything else. As mentioned before, when done right, High Yield Investments are extremely profitable, but without knowing the industry and which programs to invest in you’ll most likely lose your money. Knowledge is one of the major keys to success in the HYIP arena.
› Think about what your reasons for investing are. Are you looking at it as a solution to your financial problems you shouldn’t even think about it.
› Always think over your financial situation before taking the step to invest in HYIPs. Never invest more than you could afford to lose.
› If you’ve made the decision to start investing, find a few programs that you believe in, and invest in all of them. Diversifying your investment on several programs will reduce the risks and you won’t lose everything if one program goes out of business.
› Before investing in a specific program, do some research on it. Does the website look professional? Do they provide any contact information? Where are they based? Check this out before making a final decision.
Sometimes High Yield Investment can tend to be very much like gambling. And yes, it is very much about luck and about finding the right programs. However, if you follow the advice given above you’ll dramatically increase the chances of winning the game.
K-1 Visa:
Your engagement should be a stress free time to plan your wedding and spend time with your future spouse. You should not have to dwell on complicated legal issues. As a U.S. citizen, you are entitled to bring your foreign fiancee to live in the United States as long as you follow proper procedure. Rather than becoming confused and prone to mistakes, the legal firm will provide you with the legal representation to professionally complete the application and guide you through the K-1 Visa process.
If you are a U.S. citizen, you are legally allowed to petition to bring your fiancee to permanently live in the United States. Once the petition is approved, your fiancee can obtain a K-1 Visa from the U.S. Embassy in the country that he/she resides in. While a U.S. citizen can apply to bring his/her fiancee, legal permanent residents of the United States are not entitled to do so.
Eligibility Requirements:
Both parties must be entirely free to marry which means that both are unmarried and any previous marriage has been legally terminated. An additional requirement is that you have met your fiancee in person within the previous two years. This requirement can be waived but only under very specific circumstances. The K-1 fiancee visa is temporary but once married, your spouse can apply to change status to become a legal permanent resident. As a citizen, you may petition for your fiancee’s unmarried child(ren) under 21 years old to also immigrate under a K-2 visa. Additionally, the petitioner must be able to fulfill specific government regulated requirements to prove that he/she can financially support the fiancee. Generally, this has been defined as 125% of the governmentally defined poverty line.
Processing Time:
Bringing your fiancee to permanently reside in the United States involves a multi-step process. Several government agencies are involved in the approval including the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of State, and the U.S. Embassy or Consulate of your fiancee’s country. This process can take as little time as a few weeks or up to several months. Petitions are rarely rejected if they are properly filed. Rather, errors in paperwork result in a Request for Additional Evidence (RFE), which can greatly prolong your fiancee’s approval status and may result in rejection of your application. Thousands of RFEs are sent out annually proving that it is easy to misfile.
Applying for a Visa
The consular section at the embassy or consulate where you, the fiancé(e) of an American citizen, will apply for a visa, will tell you about any additional specific requirements that you need to fulfill to complete your visa application, such as where you need to go for the required medical examination. During the interview process, an ink-free, digital fingerprint scan will be taken. The following is required:
• A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
• Birth certificate
• Divorce or death certificate of any previous spouse for both the applicant and the petitioner
• Police certificate from all places lived since age 16
• Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
• Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support may be requested.)
• Two Nonimmigrant Visa Applications, Form DS-156 (A Form DS-156, prepared in duplicate.)
• One Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application, Form DS-156K
• Two nonimmigrant visa photos (each two inches 50 X 50 mm square, showing full face, against a light background)
• Evidence of a fiancé relationship
The consular officer may ask for additional information according to the circumstances of the case. Documents in foreign languages should be translated.
Take clear, legible photocopies of civil documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, to the interview. Original documents can then be returned to you.
The K-1 visa allows a fiancé(e) to enter the United States one time only. If you leave the United States after entering on a K-1 visa, you may not re-enter on the same visa. If you want to leave and re-enter the United States, you should apply with Form I-131 Application for Travel Document to the USCIS office that serves the area where you live for advance parole to return to the United States.
Points of Interest
Although the K-1 is technically considered a nonimmigrant visa, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of State recognize that the fiance of a U.S. citizen is, in actuality, an intending immigrant. As such, the visa application is processed more like an immigrant visa ("green card") rather than a nonimmigrant or temporary visa.
The K-1 visa allows for a single admission to the United States . Following the admission, the parties must marry within the proscribed time period and then file the necessary paperwork to adjust the foreign national's status to that of a lawful permanent resident. An application for special travel permission, referred to as "advance parole", should be included with this paperwork. Advance parole is generally granted within 90 days. Without the advance parole, the foreign national cannot travel unless and until the USCIS approves the adjustment application. If the foreign national travels without permission, the pending application will be considered abandoned and there may be no way to gain reentry to the U.S. without first obtaining an immigrant visa from a U.S. Consulate.
Following the K-1 admission, the adjustment paperwork can also include an application for work authorization. Similar to advance parole, the work authorization is also generally granted within 90 days.
If the K-1 applicant has minor children, the State Department will allow the children to either accompany the parent or follow to join. Upon proof of the parent/child relationship and assurance that the other biological parent has no objection to the child's immigration to the United States , the child will be issued a K-2 visa. The K-2 visa may be issued up to one (1) year after the issuance of the K-1 visa even if the K-1 is married and has already adjusted status.
General Requirements
The parties must demonstrate the existence of a bona fide fiance relationship and the intention to marry within 90 days of the foreign national's admission as a K-1.
The parties must be legally able to marry. If the parties were previously married, they must be able to prove that any previous marriage was terminated through death or divorce.
The parties must show that they have personally met within two (2) years of filing the fiance petition with USCIS. This requirement was established to help decrease marriage fraud, and cannot be waived unless limited circumstances exist.
Lung Mesotheliomas:
Mesotheliomas form a spectrum of tumors that usually arise in the pleura or in the abdominal cavity. The malignant tumors arising within the pleura are strongly associated with prior asbestos exposure in up to 90% of cases. The time period from initial exposure to development of the cancer may range from 25-45 years and the lifetime risk of developing mesothelioma following heavy exposure ranges from 7-10%. It diffusely spreads through the pleural space, directly invading other thoracic structures and associated with pleural effusion. The underlying lung is usually encased within the tumor.
The abdominal peritoneal variant is also related to asbestos exposure and 50% of these patients may have pulmonary fibrosis. Although 50% of these cases may be limited to the abdominal cavity, intestinal obstruction is common frequently leading to death.
Mesothelioma is characterized by having a long latency period, which means that symptoms do not develop until 20-50 years after exposure to what caused it. The average age at which symptoms usually begin to appear is around 60 years old. It is estimated that about 3,000 to 4,000 cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each years in the US. The number of cases reported each year is increasing.
Asbestos is the major cause of mesothelioma in the United States. Asbestos is a mineral that occurs as a long thin fiber in the environment. Until the 1980's, when it was banned due to its health dangers, it had been used in many industrial and insulation materials as a fire retardant. Some of the jobs in which people have been exposed to asbestos directly or indirectly are those that involve factory work, demolition, insulation, shipbuilding, carpentry, installation of brake linings in vehicles, and many others.
The dense white encircling tumor mass is arising from the visceral pleura and is a mesothelioma. These are big bulky tumors that can fill the chest cavity. The risk factor for mesothelioma is asbestos exposure. However, mesothelioma is rare even in persons with asbestos exposure. Asbestosis more commonly predisposes to bronchogenic carcinomas, increasing the risk by a factor of five. Smoking increases the risk for lung cancer by a factor of ten. Thus, smokers with a history of asbestos exposure have a risk 50 fold greater likelihood of for developing lung cancer.
Mesothelioma cases in the U.S. have increased over the past 20 years, with approximately 2,000 new cases diagnosed each year.
The first cases of mesothelioma were discovered in the "Asbestos Hills" in South Africa. Although the occurrence of mesothelioma in the U.S. is low, there has still been a threefold increase in mesothelioma cases due to exposure to asbestos in asbestos product plants and shipbuilding facilities.
Mesothelioma can be classified more specifically based on where the cancerous tissue is found.
1. Pleural Mesothelioma affects of the lining of the lungs. It is the most common type of mesothelioma.
2. Peritoneal Mesothelioma affects the lining of the abdominal cavity
3. Pericardial Mesothelioma affects the heart and tissue surrounding the heart.
Major Medical Insurance:
Insurance providing a broad range of medical services and supplies, when prescribed by a physician, whether or not the patient is hospitalized. It frequently is an extension of a basic policy and benefits will not begin until the basic policy is exhausted. If you cannot obtain health insurance through an employer or another group, you may want to consider buying an individual health insurance policy. Individual Major Medical coverage is an insurance policy issued directly to an individual. It provides coverage for hospitalizations, physician visits, medical services and supplies, and may cover other items such as prescription drugs. Individual major medical coverage usually provides less extensive benefits than a group policy and is generally more expensive.
Individual Major Medical Insurance
This comprehensive health coverage offers many of the valuable features found in group plans such as:
• Dental coverage.
• Prescription drug card.
• Maternity coverage.
• Physician/ hospital preferred provider organization options.
A flexible benefit design allows coverage to be customized to meet most health-care needs and budgets. Family and child-only benefits also are available.
You might be a candidate for individual major medical insurance if you are:
• Self-employed
• Not covered by a group plan
• An early retiree
• A part-time employee
• Not employed or actively seeking employment
Many factors contribute to the construction of health insurance premiums, including: the health of those individuals seeking to become insured; the age and sex of the adult applicants; the geographic location of the residence of the applicants; the desired deductible and coinsurance levels; and the availability of any managed care options such as incentives for the use of PPO providers. Each year the premium on individual policies will increase due to age. Rates may be increased more often than annually. However, these increases are based on such factors as the attained age of the insured adults, the percentage of medical cost increases in the previous year, claim experience for all policyholders covered under the same type of individual policy in the state and certain other demographic factors.
The short-term major medical insurance plan provides health insurance for people who are between permanent health plans and have a temporary need for medical insurance. A unemployed person or a recent college graduate can apply for a short-term medical insurance.
You might be a candidate for the high-deductible plan if you are a self-employed individual or, you work for a company with 50 or fewer employees not covered under a major medical plan, and You want control of your health-care dollars / You are seeking to invest and earn interest in an MSA.
To pay the policy premiums, it is best to pay by check, money order, or bank draft made directly to the insurance company. If you pay in cash, obtain a receipt for the payment. Keep in mind that when you pay an annual or semi-annual premium, the company considers the premium to be fully earned when they receive it and seldom will they refund any portion of the prepaid premium if you decide to change companies and drop the current policy.
If a Problem Occurs - Contact your agent or company first.

Lemon Law Ohio:
Every state has a Lemon Law, and the Ohio Lemon Law is one of the strongest in the nation which includes a provision for attorney fees, making the manufacturer pay the attorney for time spent on your Lemon Law claim.
The Lemon Law in Ohio can cover Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, ATV's, SUV's, RV's, Jet Ski's and other types of motor vehicles. If your vehicle is a lemon, you are entitled to get your money back, a new replacement, or a cash settlement. So you have nothing to lose, except that Lemon! On this site, you have access to free Lemon Law information to help you gain the knowledge you need before filing a claim.
The Lemon Law will cover you and it does not matter whether you purchased the vehicle or leased it.
Price does not matter. Whether your new lemon car is a Kia, Ford, Chrysler, GM, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Lincoln, Saturn, Honda, Oldsmobile, a Ram pickup truck, a Lexus, a Land Rover, or a Rolls, Bentley, Ferrari, or Maserati, the Ohio Lemon Law covers all consumer motor vehicles.
If, within the first 18,000 miles or the first year after delivery, your vehicle is in the shop three times for the same problem and it doesn’t get fixed, then it can be a lemon.
If your new car or new truck is in the shop for more than a total of 30 days during the first 18,000 miles of use or within the first year after the original sale date, then you have a lemon.
As with most states, this law is designed to protect owners against defects in safety, value or use. The law, as with most such laws, permits the manufacturer to first make a “reasonable” number of attempts to repair the vehicle. The number of attempts which define “reasonable” can vary greatly from state to state.
In addition, if the vehicle has been in the shop for a total of eight times, even for different problems, during the warranty period, it also qualifies as a lemon under the law. This is rather unusual; we haven’t seen this in any other lemon laws of other states.
When we spend a bunch of money on a vehicle, no problem seems minor, but the Lemon Law specifically requires that the defect or non-conformity substantially impairs the consumer’s use, value or safety. If there have been 10 repair attempts to repair the cigarette lighter it is going to be very difficult to convince a judge or jury that the defect substantially impaired the use, value, or safety. Defects in radios and CD players, or wind noises, and miscellaneous vibrations or sounds create difficult arguments. Problems such as transmission, brake, suspension, steering, radiators, or engine problems usually would qualify, and things like air conditioning, four wheel drive, and emission systems might fall somewhere in the middle.
Whether or not a defect is a substantial impairment requires us to look at it from the consumer’s perspective. For example, a person living in Florida would be affected in a different way than a person living in Alaska if the air conditioning went out. This analysis should be measured from a particular consumer’s perspective.
If the answers to all five of these questions were, “yes” then it is likely that the Ohio Lemon Law will apply. So what exactly does that mean? In short, it means that the consumer is entitled to a buyback or replacement. The consumer, if successful, will get to choose between a repurchase or replacement. A repurchase means that the consumer gives the car back, and the manufacturer will pay off the loan, and refund all of the consumer’s monthly payments as well as their down payments, minus any negative equity, GAP insurance, and in some instances, the manufacturer’s rebates. A replacement means that the consumer will keep the same loan and simply swap the collateral by selecting a new vehicle of equal or greater value. If the vehicle that the consumer chooses is of greater value, the consumer must pay the difference. Replacements are valued using the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), and are typically MSRP to MSRP.
Peritoneal mesothelioma:
Peritoneal mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the abdominal cavity, is less common than the pleural form, comprising approximately one-fifth to one-third of the total number of mesothelioma cases diagnosed. According to the SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) database, these diagnoses are approximately 54.7 per cent male versus 45.3 per cent female, with the median age being 65-69. The latency period appears to be shorter for asbestos-exposed individuals with symptoms appearing 20-30 years after exposure rather than the 30-40 year latency more commonly associated with pleural mesothelioma. Peritoneal mesothelioma, occurs in the tissue in your abdomen.
Clinical symptoms at the time of presentation may include abdominal pain, abdominal mass, increased abdominal girth, distention of the abdomen, ascites (fluid in the abdomen), fever, weight loss, fatigue, anemia and digestive disturbances. Some patients complain of more non-specific symptoms for a number of months prior to a confirmed diagnosis. In a percentage of cases, peritoneal mesothelioma is found incidentally when the patient has sought help for another health problem such as gallbladder, hernia or pelvic mass.
Peritoneal Mesothelioma is the second-most prevalent form of asbestos-related cancer, rarer than the pleural variety, and accounting for about 10% - 15% of all diagnosed Mesothelioma cases. This form of cancer affects the lining of the abdomen, known as the peritoneum.
Location of the tumor will determine which symptoms are present and/or most severe and symptoms may be different according to the patient’s general health and age.
Often, the diagnosis of peritoneal Mesothelioma is accidental, perhaps discovered during an x-ray for another ailment. Additional x-rays, CT scans, or MRIs may be ordered but, ultimately, a tissue biopsy will be the most conclusive test.
Peritoneal mesothelioma is unusual in that it demonstrates a wide spectrum of biological aggressiveness. The cystic variant of mesothelioma may cause recurrent episodes of severe lower abdominal pain but may not result in the death of the patient for many years. In contrast, the most aggressive mesothelioma variants may show metastases from the peritoneal surface to mesenteric lymph nodes at the time of initial surgery. Patients are diagnosed as having a malignant mesothelioma by histologic and immunocytochemical study. Frequent mitoses and increased size of the nucleus indicate an aggressive malignant process. Dissemination by cancer seeding and peritoneal fluid production would result in disease progression. As the peritoneal fluid produced by mesothelial nodules increased, dissemination to sites of peritoneal fluid resorption would be expected. Patients who are diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma often present to their physician with a large volume of ascites.
The widespread progression of malignant cells on peritoneal surfaces results in copious fluid production. The fluid production can be attributed to the retention of a functional property of normal mesothelial cells. In these patients the peritoneal space becomes a free conduit for mesothelioma cells to migrate from place to place. In the production of ascites fluid, the cancer cells provide themselves with a carrier solution to disseminate throughout the abdominal and pelvic spaces.
Due to a lack of symptoms early in the natural history of peritoneal mesothelioma, a large majority of patients are first diagnosed with a large volume of disease diffusely spread throughout the abdomen and pelvis. The disease accumulates in largest volume at sites of peritoneal fluid reabsorption and at dependent sites by gravity. The small bowel surfaces and mesenteries are not spared of mesothelioma implants as in the mucinous appendiceal neoplasms.
Although there's no definitive explanation, it is widely believed that asbestos causes peritoneal mesothelioma in one of two ways. First, asbestos fibers may be ingested, and when in the intestinal tract, the fibers may work themselves into the peritoneal cavity and peritoneum. Second, they may be inhaled and transported through the lymph node system to the peritoneal cavity.

Factors affecting choice of treatment
Your choice of treatment for peritoneal mesothelioma will depend on a number of factors. These include
* The stage of your cancer
* Any other medical conditions you may have
* Your general fitness
Surgery
Surgery is not possible for everyone with peritoneal mesothelioma. If surgery is possible, the operation is called a peritonectomy. This means removing the peritoneum (the lining of the abdomen) where the mesothelioma has started growing. In recent years some doctors have been developing a technique known as cytoreductive surgery for peritoneal mesothelioma.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy uses anti-cancer drugs, which are usually injected into a vein. For mesothelioma, chemotherapy may be given directly into the abdomen. Depending on the type of chemotherapy drugs used, this treatment can be given weekly or every two to three weeks. Usually the treatment is given as an outpatient. But it can be given at the same time as cytoreductive surgery, or soon after. The doctor has to make a small cut in the wall of your abdomen. Then the doctor puts a tube called a catheter through the opening and into your tummy (abdomen). The chemotherapy is given into your abdominal cavity through the catheter.
Supportive care (Palliative care)
Unfortunately peritoneal mesothelioma is often diagnosed when it is quite advanced. Some people may be too ill to cope with intensive chemotherapy. But you can still have treatment to try to relieve symptoms such as pain, weight loss and other symptoms such as fluid in the abdomen.
With more advanced peritoneal mesothelioma, fluid may collect inside your abdomen. If too much fluid collects, it makes your abdomen swell. This can be uncomfortable and heavy.
You can have the fluid drained off. This is called abdominal paracentesis. It is sometimes called an ascitic tap.
Your care will be managed by a palliative care team. This is a team of doctors and nurses who are expert in controlling the symptoms of advanced cancer. The team may also include a physiotherapist and a dietician.
Platinum Business:
Platinum discovered in South America by Ulloa in 1735 and by Wood in 1741. The metal was used by pre-Columbian Indians.
Platinum occurs natively, accompanied by small quantities of iridium, osmium, palladium, ruthenium, and rhodium, all belonging to the same group of metals. These are found in the alluvial deposits of the Ural mountains, of Columbia, and of certain western American states. Sperrylite, occurring with the nickel-bearing deposits of Sudbury, Ontario, is the source of a considerable amount of metal.
The large production of nickel makes up for the fact that is only one part of the platinum metals in two million parts of ore.
Platinum is a beautiful silvery-white metal, when pure, and is malleable and ductile. It has a coefficient of expansion almost equal to that of soda-lime-silica glass, and is therefore used to make sealed electrodes in glass systems. The metal does not oxidize in air at any temperature, but is corroded by halogens, cyanides, sulfur, and caustic alkalis.
It is insoluble in hydrochloric and nitric acid, but dissolves when they are mixed as aqua regia, forming chloroplatinic acid.
There are six Platinum Group Metals, namely platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium. Along with gold and silver, they are classified as precious metals. These six elements are generally found together, though in differing proportions depending on the ore body. Platinum and palladium are economically the most important PGMs. The platinum market has a limited number of producers. In 2003, 92% of platinum produced worldwide came from South Africa and Russia.
Platinum prices plunged 3.99 per cent in early trade on Tuesday in the domestic futures market on weak global cues.
At 10:30 hrs, platinum for September contract fell by 3.99 per cent at Rs 19,025 per 10 gram on the country's leading Multi Commodity Exchange. The contract recorded a moderate business volume of two lots.
Traders said fall in the platinum prices was mostly attributed to weak trend in global markets and weakness in other precious metals.
Platinum has a dual role as an essential metal for automotive catalytic converters and as a prestigious metal for jewellery. The auto catalysts sector is the main driver of growth in demand for platinum, with legislation requiring emissions reduced adding to the growth profile. Both Engelhard and Johnson Matthey have auto catalyst plants in India serving the motorcycle and fast growing domestic car markets. There has also been increasing platinum demand for jewellery in the Far East, especially in Japan and China.
The metal is extensively used in jewelry, wire, and vessels for laboratory use, and in many valuable instruments including therocouple elements. It is also used for electrical contacts, corrosion-resistant apparatus, and in dentistry.
Platinum-cobalt alloys have magnetic properties. One such alloy made of 76.7% Pt and 23.3% Co, by weight, is an extremely powerful magnet that offers a B-H (max) almost twice that of Alnico V. Platinum resistance wires are used for constructing high-temperature electric furnaces.
The price of platinum has varied widely. More than a century ago platinum was used to adulterate gold and was worth nearly eight times more than gold in 1920. The price in January 1990 was about $500/troy oz.
Prostate cancer and its treatments:
Prostate cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the prostate.
The prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system located just below the bladder (the organ that collects and empties urine) and in front of the rectum (the lower part of the intestine). It is about the size of a walnut and surrounds part of the urethra (the tube that empties urine from the bladder). The prostate gland produces fluid that makes up part of the semen.
Prostate cancer is found mainly in older men. As men age, the prostate may get bigger and block the urethra or bladder. This may cause difficulty in urination or can interfere with sexual function. The condition is called benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and although it is not cancer, surgery may be needed to correct it. The symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia or of other problems in the prostate may be similar to symptoms of prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer can be treated in many ways. The choice of treatment depends on the patient's health, age, expected life span, and personal preferences as well as on the stage and grade of cancer and the anticipated effects of treatment. Sometimes a combination of treatments is used.
Treatment options include the following:
• Surgery
• Radiation Therapy
• Hormone Therapy
• Chemotherapy
• Watchful Waiting
Newer, advanced options have been developed in the past 10 to 15 years. These newer options avoid or minimize some of the unpleasant side effects sometimes associated with the standard therapies.
In addition to talking with family and friends, you will need a team of physicians to help advise you. By the time of diagnosis, you will already have met two of the three or four doctors you will need for your cancer treatment planning: your primary care physician (an internist or family practice doctor) and a urologist, who probably performed the biopsy. (In some cases, a radiologist performs the biopsy.) If you have an early-stage cancer or moderately advanced cancer and there is no evidence of spread to other organs (non-metastatic), you need to talk to one more doctor: a radiation oncologist. The two major options for treatment are surgery (performed by your urologist) and radiation therapy (performed by a radiation oncologist).
If your cancer is advanced and you require chemotherapy, then you will also need a medical oncologist, who administers chemotherapy. Hormones, which are often used to treat prostate cancer, can be administered by your internist, urologist, radiation oncologist or medical oncologist.
Radiation is a special kind of energy carried by waves or a stream of particles. When radiation is used at high doses (many times those used for x-ray imaging exams), it can destroy abnormal cells that cause cancer and other illnesses.
Understanding the size, location, and amount of spreading of the prostate cancer (metastasis) is important. These factors are evaluated and given a staging letter, number, or grouping. Staging is one of the most important factors in deciding the best way to treat prostate cancer.
Your medical team will consider other factors, too, such as age, life expectancy, and risk of recurrence after treatment based on Gleason scoresand PSA levels.
Prostate cancer screening probably should not be done once patients are over the age of 70 or if they develop a significant underlying medical illness or other incurable malignancy that will decrease their life expectancy to less than 10 years.
Quotes for mortgage:
A mortgage is a loan you obtain to pay for a home and any land it sits on. The home and land is used for collateral on the loan, which means that if you don't make your payments, the lender can take the home away to cover your missed payments.
The concept behind Quoting is to create a streamlined process for end users to procure personalised quotes and customer service when searching for products and services. With dedicated systems covering all states and territories, and with a vision to expand internationally, many companies are there to resolve quotations from a local or broader area depending upon your specific requirements.
These companies will achieve this aim by providing a service that allows our clients to lodge their enquiry via a web browser on a relatively simple form, based upon the information provided in the clients form, businesses and or service providers which are accredited members of the Quote My Alliance will then be able to respond by e-mail, telephone or facsimile with a competitive response.
To improve the competitive nature of the response, they will allow its clients to select the maximum number of local businesses to which their contact details may be provided.
Mortgage loan rates can change daily, sometimes even multiple times per day depending on economic factors. For the most accurate comparisons, get all rate quotes on the same day.
For most loans, the lender's mortgage rate sheets have pricing based on a lock period, which are offered in increments like, 15, 30, or 60 days.
A lock guarantees the mortgage loan rate for a specific time. Longer lock periods usually have higher rates. Compare mortgage rate quotes for similar lock periods.
Increasing the mortgage rate will decrease the points, while reducing the rate will increases the points. Mortgage quotes have tiered pricing that allows you to buy the rate, or the points up or down. Compare quotes with the same number of points, such as, zero points, or one point.
The first issue is your credit, which shows what kind of borrower you are, how much you owe, do you pay on time, if you've had a bankruptcy, judgment, repossession, or delinquent accounts.
Compensating factors can offset bad credit issues when processing your loan. For example, a lower loan to value, or long term job stability are considered to be strong points.
A good credit score allows the lender to offer a higher loan to value, bigger loan amount, and a better rate. A lower score means the lender may offset their risk by reducing the maximum loan amount, or raising the interest rate.
A good written explanation for credit problems can make a difference in getting a loan. Home equity lenders know that a temporary situation can cause late loan payments, such as, an illness that prevented you from working, or a job lay off that created a gap in your employment.
Everyone has seen the commercials about companies that can get you multiple quotes on mortgages regardless of credit. While this is a great thing that can be done thanks to modern technology, it can also be confusing to the borrower. They may get a quote from a mortgage broker and think that they meet the criteria and are approved. They may also think that the first quoted rate is the one they will absolutely get.
The reality is that these mortgage quotes are just that: quotes. They are preliminary information based on the information you submitted. Once all of your information is processed, the rate could go up, or go away altogether. In addition, the time between the first quote and the actual approval process can take days, weeks, or longer.
Security Event Management:
Security information-management (SIM) products (also referred to as Security Information and Event Management or Security Event Management) automate the manual process of collecting security-specific event-log data from file systems, security appliances and other network devices. These products, which can be hardware, software, or a service, feature data-aggregation and network event-correlation features similar to those found in network management software.
Information can be collected from firewalls, proxy servers, intrusion-detection systems, intrusion-prevention systems, routers and switches, and antispam, antivirus and antispyware software. In addition to being able to access a number of sources for this information, SIM products try to distinguish themselves by how quickly they can collect the information without missing an event, how well the can correlate specific security events with user identities, and how rich their reporting capabilities are to help managers, for example, distinguish a legitimate security event from a false-positive alert.
Even with dedicated security personnel, it’s tough to monitor the millions of messages and log records generated by intrusion detection systems and firewalls. Even more difficult is identifying patterns occurring over time and across separate devices, but an SEM system can build a centralized architecture that makes such tasks more feasible.
Although SEM is a concept at heart, plenty of vendors offer management products that combine a core engine, user interface, and event collection capabilities. Some systems aren’t cheap, with prices starting around $50,000 and running well into the six-figure range for complex environments, but they deliver the unique ability to monitor disparate security events generated by VPN software, firewalls, antivirus software, databases, Web servers, IDS, and other pieces of the security puzzle.
Although the nation is at great risk from cyberterrorism … only a tiny cadre of researchers are (re)thinking deeply about long-term solutions to this problem. If the problem were merely a matter of implementing techniques that are known to be adequate, this might not be a serious issue. But the truth is that we do not know how to build secure computer systems. The only model widely used for cybersecurity is the "perimeter defense" model -- which is demonstrably fragile. In fact, for deep theoretical reasons, it is impossible to guarantee that a perimeter-defense system will ever work! To be sure, many immediate problems of cybersecurity can be handled by implementing or enforcing known "best practices" -- such as patching software each time a new attack is successful. But solving the fundamental problem will require long-term, innovative basic research.
Security Event Management to help ease the task of it security by delivering log management, risk analysis, and network monitoring solutions.
These vital elements helps protect your business continuity, by letting you proactively detect vulnerable applications, ensuring services are running with the required demands, and by giving you a utility to have a complete security overview, realtime.
Many modern companies are dependent on services that are accessible from the network by the end-users. This could be your mail and web applications that should be available 24/7 for customers to create business revenue. But not limited to internal services that your employees are dependent on like your storage, ERP and CRM systems.
Having a network management tool gives you both a proactive and reactive good solution to increase the overall business continuity. The proactive part is ensured with the quick notification of bottlenecks or other abnormalities in your environment before they evolves to a catastrophe. Whereas the reactive part is used for quick diagnostic of errors in the production environment.
Security Manager comprises three main components: Event Manager, Intrusion Manager and Log Manager. Event Manager is the central console that manages and displays security events. Intrusion Manager watches incoming logs for signs of intrusion and either generates alerts or takes a defined action when an incident is suspected. Log Manager is the workhorse, handling collection, standardization and archiving of all managed logs. In our tests, we installed all components on one server without running into performance issues. For a production environment where you would watch a large number of events, you'd probably want to split these components up onto multiple machines.
Security Manager uses wizards to perform most tasks, such as agent installation and correlation definition. This is one of Security Manager's greatest strengths, as each wizard maintains a consistent interface to minimize training. We used the agent installation wizard to install agents on our Windows and Unix systems, and to install proxy agents to capture Check Point, Snort and Cisco switch logs. Setup for Snort logging was simple and took just minutes following the instructions provided in the Security Manager documentation.

Tax Relief America:
The President is telling the American people that tax cuts are the answer to revive our economy. The bigger the better, sooner rather than later. If the President had his way, we would see a $750 Billion tax relief package in the very near future, though the pundits estimate that he will only get to see half of that. Are tax cuts the answer to tuning up the American economic engine?
As the Republicans debate how much, the Democrats talk about how little. They caution that increasing the federal budget deficit will decrease badly needed benefits to Americans who are already short on jobs. Tom Dashchle assures us that the Republicans will only cut taxes for the rich and will not turn the economy around in any way.
The U.S. production activities deduction is allowed with respect to a taxpayer’s qualified production activities income, which is the taxpayer's domestic production gross receipts net of expenses. “Domestic production gross receipts” are receipts derived from any of the following:
Any lease, rental, license, sale, exchange, or other disposition of:
* ... qualifying production property (i.e., tangible personal property, any computer software, and certain sound recordings) that was manufactured, produced, grown, or extracted in whole or in significant part by the taxpayer within the U.S.;
As well as:
* ... any qualified film produced by the taxpayer; or
* ... electricity, natural gas, and potable water produced by the taxpayer in the U.S.
* construction performed in the U.S.;
* or engineering and architectural services performed in the U.S. for construction projects in the U.S.
The deduction is available to all taxpayers with qualified production activities income. For pass-thru entities (such as S-corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts), the deduction generally is determined at the shareholder, partner or similar level by taking into account, at that level the proportional share of the qualified production activities income of the entity. The deduction is allowed for AMT purposes.
# INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX PROVISIONS
# Deduction of state and local general sales taxes - In a move that will primarily benefit individuals in states with sales taxes but with no or limited individual income taxes (i.e., Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming), taxpayers, who itemize, will be able to deduct on their federal tax returns for 2004 and 2005 either what they pay in state and local income taxes or what they pay in sales taxes. Previously, only state and local income tax payments were deductible. Taxpayers who itemize may deduct their actual sales taxes or use IRS-published tables.
# Principal residence - a principal residence acquired in a like kind exchange must be held for at least five years in order for any gain on its sale to be excludable.
OTHER MISCELLANEOUS TAX INCENTIVE PROVISIONS
The Act also:
# Excludes from unrelated taxable income of tax-exempt investors gain or loss from the sale or exchange of a qualifying brownfield property and excepts such property from the debt-financed property rules.
# Allows an above-the-line deduction for attorney's fees and court costs incurred in connection with an unlawful discrimination claim.
# Expands the credit for electricity produced from renewable resources to include open-loop biomass, geothermal and solar energy, small irrigation power, landfill gas, trash combustion and refined coal production facilities.
# Allows the tax credits for alcohol fuels and the production of electricity to be applied against AMT.
# Provides a variety of tax breaks for farmers and other agricultural interests.
The new law extends several previously enacted tax cuts that were scheduled to be eliminated or reduced in 2005. Hence, these provisions will prevent many individuals from incurring increased tax liability in 2005 and perhaps in subsequent years as well.
The new law delays for one year a scheduled reduction in the exemption amounts for the individual alternative minimum tax (AMT). As a result, the following exemption amounts, which apply in 2004, will also apply in 2005:
* $40,250 for unmarried taxpayers (versus $33,750),
* $58,000 for joint filers and surviving spouses (versus $45,000),
* $29,000 for married filing separately (versus $22,500).
* The exemption amount for estates and trusts-$22,500-was not affected by the new law or previous tax cut legislation.
Note that the exemption amount is phased out at certain income levels. The new law does not change this rule. The new law does, however, permit all nonrefundable personal credits to be used in full in calculating individual alternative minimum tax in 2004 and 2005. Previously, only the adoption credit, child credit, and IRA credit were to be allowed in full against the AMT in 2004 and later years.
An additional benefit to spreading out the contribution would be the advantage of dollar cost averaging (discussed above). Two possible downsides come to mind for the employee who takes this approach. One would be tax-free deferral in the 401(k) plan over a shorter period. However, the greater overall amount being deferred should more than make up for this. The second downside could apply in situations where the employee is contemplating a change of jobs and the new employer has a waiting period before employees can participate in its 401(k) plan. For example, if the employee starts work at a new employer in April and the new employer has a one-year waiting period before employees can participate in its 401(k) plans, the employee may not be able to fund his retirement plan with $14,000 for the year. Though this could apply, a more common waiting period is 6 months and the employee would likely still reap greater benefits by electing the smaller deferral.
There are many tax and investment planning strategies that should be considered sooner rather than later. And don't forget. Self employed persons hoping to take a tax deduction for a contribution to a Keogh plan must open the plan before the start of the new year. It can be funded later, but the plan must have been opened by December 31.
As a result of the President's Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001, the Jobs & Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003, and the Working Families Tax Relief Act of 2004 every taxpayer who paid income taxes will get tax relief this year.
* 110 million American taxpayers will see their taxes decline by an average of $1,716.
* A family of four earning $40,000 will receive tax relief of $1,985.
* Over 5 million individuals and families will see their income tax liabilities completely eliminated.
* 44 million families with children will receive an average tax cut of $2,300.
* 14 million elderly individuals will receive an average tax cut of $1,879.
* 25 million small business owners will save an average of $3,235.
* 24 million investors will save an average of $947 from lower rates on dividends and capital gains, including 7 million seniors who will save an average of $1,231.
* Low-income families will also benefit from provisions that make the child credit refundable for more families and reduce marriage penalties.
Travel and Passion:
Traveling is the opportunity to step out of one's little world & glimpse someone else's, take a thoughtful insight into other cultures & customs, embrace new experiences and open your eyes to the world beyond your own doorstep.
"So far as I am able to judge, nothing has been left undone, either by man or nature, to make India the most extraordinary country that the sun visits on rounds. Nothing seems to have been forgotten, nothing overlooked." --Mark Twain, his from Following the Equator
It is impossible not to be astonished by India. Nowhere on Earth does humanity present itself in such a dizzying, creative burst of cultures and religions, races and tongues. Every aspect of the country presents itself on a massive, exaggerated scale, worthy in comparison only to the superlative mountains that overshadow it.
Explore India- Lose yourself in the wonder that is India. Meander through lands steeped in chivalry and pageantry that begin before recorded history. Explore modern cities that have grown organically from the roots of a multi-hued past. Make a pilgrimage to holy shrines that echo with tales of antiquity. Frolic on a vast array of golden beaches that dot an enviable coastline, washed by two seas and an ocean. Sport with adventure in style. Let the jungle lure you to a fascinating world at a diverse array of wildlife sanctuaries and national parks....... this is the wonder that is India.
My 2003 trip was initially fraught with difficulties. Imagine, if you will, a small band of expectant adventurers waiting in anticipation of this great trip at Charing Cross station at the ungodly hour of 08:00 on a Sunday morning to be told that the trip was no longer operating!! Imagine the disbelief and the verbal phrases of many languages uttered! That was it. We were left stranded. Could have been worse - I heard of 1 girl who was stranded in Croatia. Thankfully I was stranded on home turf. It appeared that the company was in financial difficulties and no longer operating full stop! However in the end, I got round using another company and ultimately it was another very successful mission completed. An excellent trip - met lots of great people and accomplished more that I had originally thought I would. In some ways, the hassle of the previous company going into liquidation has actually resulted in a much better trip!! Read more about it here!
Singapore - an island, city and republic rolled into one, the place where East meets West and one of the shopping capitals of the world. I had the pleasure of enjoying two occasions with a Singaporean friend whom I met back in Australia in 1998 and her family. They showed me extraordinary hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness, as have many Singaporeans, and I've been able to experience some of Singapore from a "locals' perspective".
Singapore is synonymous with shopping - Orchard Road is the place to go for this - lined with huge malls and McDonalds by the truckload if you crave Western Fast Food. At the eastern end there is the historical sightseeing including City Hall, Parliament House, and Supreme Court etc. You can also visit a place called Chjimes, which is a converted convent!
A land of magnificent World Heritage sites and the oldest travel destination on the planet, Egypt has been enticing visitors for more than three millennia while also contributing much to the development of civilisation.Pyramids of Giza

The women in A Woman’s Passion for Travel do this and more, exploring every corner of the globe and every facet of their characters, accepting challenges and delving beneath the surface of cultures. They find inspiration from other women as they discover themselves and turn old stories into daring new adventures. In this remarkable collection, women of all ages take risks, learn, and embrace the joys of the world. Lighthearted or serious, funny or sad, each story will move you—perhaps even to the road itself.
We departed on a 2-week adventure, which turned out to be a fantastic overview of Egypt, from pyramids to the Red Sea Coast, and across the Nile to Mount Sinai. We travelled from the only one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World still in existence, to the plethora of hieroglyph-covered tombs & temples in the lush Nile Valley over to what is reputed to be the site of some of the world's best diving and snorkelling and finished at the pink & purple wedge of rugged earth, where Moses was believed to have been given the Ten Commandments, on a riveting journey with an extremely great group composed of 8 Aussies, 4 Brits (including us), 1 Canadian and our local Egyptian guide / Egyptologist.
Canada is the second largest country in the world and is made up of three northern territories and ten provinces with two official languages: English and French.
Its a huge, spacious, rugged country spanning over 7000km from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Coast. To give you an idea of the immense size of this country, a flight from Vancouver to Toronto took me almost halfway home and I hadn't even got across Canada! Vancouver to Toronto is 2,091 miles; Toronto to the UK is 3,559 miles! The flight would probably be equivalent to flying from the UK to Turkey.
Small Groups trips are primarily designed for like-minded individuals, families, couples and leisure travelers.
India Inbound also provides culture itineraries for foreign and NRI tourists to get a feel for multifaceted, mythical, multicultural and modern India. At India Travelers, we are compassionate about your life style and provide you the best 'active travel'.
Services of VOIP:
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line. Some VoIP services may only allow you to call other people using the same service, but others may allow you to call anyone who has a telephone number - including local, long distance, mobile, and international numbers. Also, while some VoIP services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone, other services allow you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter.
VoIP services convert your voice into a digital signal that travels over the Internet. If you are calling a regular phone number, the signal is converted to a regular telephone signal before it reaches the destination. VoIP can allow you to make a call directly from a computer, a special VoIP phone, or a traditional phone connected to a special adapter. In addition, wireless "hot spots" in locations such as airports, parks, and cafes allow you to connect to the Internet and may enable you to use VoIP service wirelessly.
To enable VOIP services, a broadband (high speed Internet) connection is required. This can be through a cable modem, or high speed services such as DSL or a local area network. A computer, adaptor, or specialized phone is required. Some VoIP services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone, while other services allow you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter. If you use your computer, you will need some software and an inexpensive microphone. Special VoIP phones plug directly into your broadband connection and operate largely like a traditional telephone. If you use a telephone with a VoIP adapter, you'll be able to dial just as you always have, and the service provider may also provide a dial tone.
Businesses, large and small, can take advantage of the efficiencies associated with IP-based communications and voice over IP services. But certainly, one size does NOT fit all! So, some VOIP service providers offer a variety of package, to help readers sort through the overwhelming number of business-class solutions available on the market.
Using VoIP phone service would help you save hundred to thousands of dollars on your monthly business phone or residential phone bill. VoIP providers are competing against each other to bring you the best VoIP plans.
Benefits of VOIP services are:
• Lower your Phone Bills
• Take your Phone Line with you
• Eliminate your long distance bill
• Bypass excessive taxes
• Avoid the monopoly phone companies
Call quality of VoIP is a big determining factor in nearly all the VoIP reviews we read while preparing this report. Internet lines that are getting crowded with more downloads can have glitches like echoes and dropped calls, especially during peak hours. This is especially a problem with VoIP services like Vonage (*est. $25 per month for unlimited calls in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and five European countries) and Packet8 (*est. $25 per month for unlimited calls in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands and five European countries) , since they use public networks.
Due to successful patent infringement suits by Verizon and Nextel Sprint, Vonage has taken a big hit, but we still found it recommended in reviews. Though it doesn't have a price advantage over AT&T CallVantage, you do get a lot of extras with Vonage, including call waiting, caller ID, visual voicemail and even weather alerts. The base price also includes free calls to five European countries. The downside is that Vonage's long-term prospects are now cloudy. Overall, Vonage falls behind Cox and other services in call quality and service. E911 is available to most subscribers.
Skype is a free download that allows you to make no-cost VoIP calls, including video calls, to anyone with the same software through your computer. Skype also has inexpensive add-on plans that let you call regular phones through your computer for about 2¢ per minute almost anywhere in the world. You can place unlimited calls to landline phones within the U.S. and Canada for $30 a year. Skype is a favorite in reviews for its ease of setup and decent if unpredictable sound quality. Your computer needs to be turned on to make or receive Internet phone calls in most cases, though new phones are available that bypass the computer altogether. Skype isn't meant to replace your regular phone, however -- it doesn't offer any 911 service or local number portability.
